I like this trade. I still would like to see Coleman play with Cirelli and Palat, that line gives you a great shutdown 2nd line with legit scoring ability. The third line goes to Killorn-Johnson-Gourde and in limited minutes that is a great third line. I know you don't like Johnson and Gourde but them on the third line is match up problems for other teams allowing them more space against other teams bottom lines. Coleman has a horrible Face Off percentage so I think he is better suited as a winger then center and to me he is a better option at the 2RW then 3RW.
I also don't think they are done, I think they will find another RD for insurance purposes before the deadline is up. But even if they don't this Coleman trade is going to pay dividends for the next two years in the playoffs this year and for the cap crunch that is coming.
It was a lot to give up but 1st draft picks in the high 20s are gambles and Nolan Foote is a few years away from helping a team that is trying to win now. Considering they still have their first round pick this year that off sets the high price a little as well.
