The Wild's biggest deficiency this year was goaltending. Based on goals saved above expectation, Stalock and Dubnyk combine to form the worst duo in the league and it's not even remotely close. Despite that, they've remained within a short win streak of a wild card spot this late in the season and it is entirely possible Guerin might see that and decide he needs 2 things this summer: a top 6 center and better goaltending. This team isn't winning a Cup, but they're improved enough over what they had this season to get back to the 1st round exit that Leipold expects. Suter is probably pissed his summer farming gets delayed, but he’ll get over it.
Dumba trade needs RNH to agree to an extension that the Wild are comfortable with going forward and Edmonton would be banking on Dumba going back to shooting his career average ~8% instead of the ~2% he's at this year. Salary is the same, so shouldn't be a big deal for either team.
Zucker can play 2nd line LW unless they move him, in which case Parise probably goes up to 2nd line and Greenway or Donato plays 3rd line LW. If they don't trade Zucker, they need to move Greenway or Donato to clear up the logjam. Rask can be an injury fill-in like he was this year. Someone on defense in Iowa will need to come up as well, maybe Menell to get some powerplay time with the loss of Dumba.
I have Dubnyk buried in the minors because burying him costs about the same as buying him out, but they’d probably just let him not report like Boston did with Backes.
