Calgary would be insane not to take that deal. Hanifin is topping out short of his projected upside and might not even be the best player in this trade. Roslovic is getting better and better and who knows what the #1 pick might become if Winnipeg doesn't make the playoffs or gets thumped in the first round. And even if you "lottery protect" this year, there's no guarantee that next year won't be even worse.

It’s interesting to see you say this. I thought hanifin was pretty good from what I’ve seen, he’s only 22 and on a good deal. I wasn’t sure of the value so I’m glad to get some feedback. Maybe just Stanley and the first is fair, remember I said that trade happens at the draft and it’s the #15 OA pick. Or maybe Roslovic and a 3rd is fair? I have no idea.

I think any two pieces would be fair. Hanifin is a classic case of a overhyped offensive Dman. I'm not saying he's a terrible player, nor is he a coach killer. But he has hit a plateau. He is consistently a "minus" player (-49 over 5 seasons) and he's not going to do much to shore up the blueline.
