I'd love a young roster player, even if it means COL keeps the 1st rounder. As a Devils fan, I just can't stand to wait around for the rebuild, even though it's probably in their long term best interest.

That being said, I like this trade from a Devils perspective. And I think COL is in the best position to make a deal for Hall with an extension in place.

His mediocre play is def. costing him millions off his next contract. I think he would've been all but guaranteed a Panarin-like extension (plus an extra year) from Shero if he'd signed a month ago.
