I hadn't considered moving Strome instead of Vlady, but this works once you cull the roster down to 20 players. There are still a lot of questions down the middle, but perhaps the young guys can step up.

I would prefer to keep Strome, but I don't now that we could move Vladdy without keep salary or adding in picks. There is a plus with him being Russian too, to help with the new kids we signed.

Realistic moves with the Smith buyout and Strome trade, but Nieves or Fox would have to be demoted to get under the cap. I think Smith gets bought out, Strome gets traded for a 3rd like you said and Namestnikov gets traded for a 3rd with Rangers retaining 25%, which gives us more cap room.

Certainly possible. I figured the overage was so minor, it could be handled giving Buch or DeAngelo a little less. But I could see Vladdy getting moved too.
