Description
Swap of 4th overalls, there's risk on both sides but it could make sense. CGY is stacked with LHF and need some help on RW. They're deep enough to develop JP. Bennett might have the lower ceiling but he brings an element the Oilers could use in the Top 6. Trading Bennett for JP might help them save 1M to create a little bit more cap to sign Rittich and Tkachuk.

I put Drai on the second line to distribute the talent and have an insane second line that can compete with anybody. If nobody's going, Switch Draisaitl and Bennett to have McDavid/Draisaitl again.

The way I lined up the defencemen, I went with:

2nd best - 3rd best - played together in 2017-2018.
Best - Worst - Klefbom might be able to help him along with that Swedish connection.
4th best - 5th best - I actually think Benning will take a bit of a leap this year. I expect him to get some minutes with Klefbom as well if Persson doesn't do well.

The 7th d doesn;t matter as much, when injuries or non performance happen in the top 6, it'll be Jones/Lagesson/Bear/Bouchard who'll get called up and play.

Switch Haas with Nygard and play Khaira at C if the bottom 6 needs a juggle.

Too much risk 1 for 1 on Calgary's side, probably some condition depending on JP's performance at the least. If flames can add some more top 6 depth with a Brodie trade then this seems fine

I'd maybe look at a second rounder pick swap going to CGY at most and that's depending on both guy's performance. Like I said, both guys are relatively young so you can't really tell what they are yet. Bennett is close to the 300 NHL game mark which is good and bad. Good because he established he can be at least a 3rd liner, bad because its been 300 games and he's only shown flashes of being a top 6 player.

JP on another hand, the good is that his ceiling looks high and his floor is 3rd line winger. He's big, and can skate. The bad is could he combine his raw tools with some hockey IQ. So there's risk on both sides. JP fits CGY's need with skilled wings who are RH.

It's been pretty well discussed and agreed upon that Bennett holds more value then PoolParty, especially after his playoff performance this year.

It would cost ED, but be worth it.
