ERNE will NOT be signed and hasn't because he maybe trade sweetner in a "Shrimp deal" .. Erne has no real uniqueness at all except he not a shrimp .. I thought he was Joe Block head on ice .. 3 or 4 Crunch players can replace him and we save 1M .. there is reason Paquette got 2 year deal .. which I like alot as Paquette will be 3C as soon as this year .. Tampa used Erne money on Paquette

If anything, we would sign Erne and then move him if a clear better option emerges. We know Erne is capable of a fourth line role, and while I like a lot of our prospects, we should have a backup plan. Besides, I don’t think there are any trade options out there right now that would make our team better who we could get for Erne + whichever player we’re replacing. Erne is a big, physical forward, and those are always good to have. He’ll have to compete for a roster spot, so chances are he only gets $1m or so, and we can easily move him for a pick if cap space is an issue. He’s not worth enough unsigned to justify trading him unless another team is doing something stupid.
