If you want this dream blockbuster trade with Winnipeg, I think Connor instead of Laine would be better and there would be no need to trade away Lehkonen. Lehkonen will sign for roughly $2m and is better and more reliable than Nichushkin. Connor probably gets $7m long-term so you save $1.5m there to give Dzingel a more realistic contract in my eyes. I don't see him signing for less than $5.75m so there's that money. Ferland should only be signed to a short deal with his concussion history also. Not super off for such a wacky deal, just a lot going that I don't think ever happens.

I'm trying to make it easier for them to make the trade. Laine is not gonna want anything else bellow 8.5. With that extra 1.5 they can have 2 players ( Connor 7 mill and Lehkonen 1.5). If Ferland takes same term but less $$ let's say 3.5 and I opp to sign someone else at 1 mill as a 4th liner instead of giving 2 mill to Nichushkin, then perhaps I can still give Dzingel around 5.5-5.75. Perhaps in this scanerio I can get a pick also coming back from WPG. Also I'm weak on RW that's another reason to go for Laine.

I forgot to mention try getting rid of Weise and/or Peca instead of burying them in the minors to free up more room. Good luck!
