Unrealistic off-season too many moving pieces

Canucks help out the Leafs by helping facilitate a trade of Marleau with the Canucks retaining 50% of his salary, while he goes to the team of his choice, Leafs keep the pick from that team. Goldobin (will be cheap around 1 million and can put up 30+ points on this leafs team), Biega who plays like a pitbull and has better analytic numbers than Zaitsev. The real value is the Leafs free up 6.3 million (PM) and can move Zaitsev for a pick with his 4.5 million gone, giving them 23 million to re-up MM, AJ, 1 or 2 Dman and Goldobin(also enabling Leafs to move Brown and get more cap space)

Could be any of the teams rumoured to be interested in PM ie: Col, Ari etc (or SJ if 50% was retained).. a 3rd or 4th round pick for a player at 3.125 million that will put up 30+ points is a good deal.

Tampa needs a 2nd pairing RD at a cheap cost. C. Tanev at 50% is that Dman, with him playing 2nd pairing in Tampa and an easier travel schedule with definitely keep him healthier with less injuries. His first pass, break out passes from his own zone are underrated, he will help Tampa with that as they have great forwards, which was missing with the Canucks. Motte and Paquette are similar, but Paquette will give the Canucks a bit more size and grit, Motte is another pitbull with a bit more play making abilities, not that Tampa needs it, but he will also be a bit more cheaper.

** Carolina has a plethora of defencemen, Fluery hasn't lived up to his potential but he also really hasn't had an opportunity with the dman ahead of him, his value is about a 2nd round pick now. Baertschi can bring more offense to Carolina which they need, he has had concussions as such his value is lower than if he played the full season, he is at 2nd round pick too. A change of scenery for both may be what they need

** Leivo plays with grit and has offensive skill, Vegas needs to shed a lot of cap to be able to sign WK and others. This frees up 11.9 million for Vegas allowing them to sign all including Leivo who will be under a million. Canucks get size in Reaves and a Dman with offensive upside but has some defensive lapses. Vegas gets that cap space plus an OK prospect in Guillaume how can be a steady 6 or maybe 5 defensive Dman in the NHL
