Description
Toronto sheds Marleau's cap while getting a RH D they've been looking for. Kap comes back to Pit and Pens shed Johnson so he can play on Toronto's bottom d pair.

Maybe Marleau can be the support on the Malkin/Kessel line that fixes their mistakes.



The only possible hole I could see on this team is 2nd Line RD when Letang inevitably gets hurt. This could possibly be resolved during the season.

They need to unload a 6 +million dollar contract and they desperately need a top 4 rh dman. its part of the deal. whether they need it or not. He fills the bottom pair for them. Pens don't need a 6.2m 40 year old lwer, but its part of the deal to make the swap.

I felt that it was a fair deal, not just cater to the needs of the leafs....so that is why i fathomed it.

It does not cater them at all, we have 5 bottom pair defenseman better than him and it just gives us more dead cap, not to mention you know i'm right because Marleau is easily the better player and contract in this situation and if he wasn't you wouldn't have made the trade.
