I think the 1st pushes me over the top. If this was a 2020 2nd i'd be willing.

Jesus this is awful for the Flyers. I love how they have to give up a 4th just to add insult to injury.

So you both think it's a bad trade and you're getting ripped off, despite being on opposite ends. I like it.

Varying opinions is what this place is all about! wink

Also it's normal. Not everyone values players the same. One person may think Ghost is the best dman in the league and any offer other than McDavid is a slap in the face..... another think Shaw is a quality top 6 forward that adding anything to him is a slap in the face.

I also think people naturally devalue other teams players. Shaw is not as bad as people think. Ylonen was basically a late 1st rounder and has been very good in the WJC and Liiga this year. But if you don't know his name, he might as well be his father Juha Ylonen for all you care but in reality he is a quality prospect.

There's also an element in CF that is completely missed. NEGOTIATION. Both varying opinions may just be starting points and negotiation would help bridge the gap closer to the middle. On CF, people generally just do what they think is a fair offer minus 15% just to make sure they don't get laughed at for an over value........

That's very well put. It's true! That -15% rule seems pretty on point. I don't make the best trades all the time but for the most part people seem content with talking about what I've come up with. Another thing that bugs me is when someone makes a team that has 5+ trades in the off-season. Sometimes it's 6-8 and I think "when was the last time you saw a team do that?" Maybe once? I keep my trades down as low as possible.
