        The Rangers might be "reborn" with the trades, but no reason why Carolina and the Avs (and maybe the Wild) would want to do those trades. Teams don't feel compelled to help the Rangers with their salary cap problems, and to give up superior returns to the Rangers.....just because the Rangers want to see more UFAs

        That staal trade may be unrealistic, but the rest of it is pretty reasonable, coukd see rfas costing a bit more,but i see where u were going w term. I think the staal deal could happen, but wed need to take only a 7th and throw in a sweetener, goalie prospect or future pick.

        All the trades are slanted towards the rangers. Stepan and Coyle have similar value, sure Stepan can score 10 more points a season, but hes twice the $. If anyone adds it should be NYR. Staal is worth a 7th rd pick if you retain 50% and give them a B prospect. Hes got 5 more years left and even if you retain half its still close to 3m. There will be better options in FA at that #. Kreider isn't as good as Barrie. I wouldn't be surprised if Barrie outscored Kreider this or last year.
