why would they move muzzin instead of zaitsev, resign a defenseman who wont stay in NA and bring back hansey to play on the 1st pair?

I understand your question totally. And my answer is: to keep a great third line. Toronto will get injuries during the season, and they will free up gap space eventually. A team like Dallas needs D-men for sure. Oh, and at this point Zaitsevs contract is not movable.

Why not trade Kadri for Hintz straight up. This would actually make more sense. I threw Honka there just because I think he will play in the KHL next season.
