Description
Panarin's bonus is more than accounted for. I really think Stan will package an asset with Bickell and free up a lot of cap space, but this lineup assumes Bickell gets buried in the AHL and the Hawks use the 16/17 season to give their rookies more opportunities in preparation for the 17/18 season when there will be more cap space to fill the holes.

What the Hawks get back in a trade for Shaw's rights is not the focus of this scenario, but Shaw will need to be traded since there is no cap room for him.

It's been reported the Hawks signed Kempny so I anticipate Rosival will be back another year as a veteran mentor at the same cap hit he had this past season. He won't be recovering from a broken ankle this off season so he might be alright in 16/17.

the leafs have a glut of forwards coming up. I doubt they make a trade for shaw and then risk losing him, or a guy like kapanen/leipsic/komarov in the expansion draft

I like the idea of Shaw coming to Toronto. Something more appealing to the Hawks, instead of a second rounder could be prospects that will likely be in the NHL such as Leivo, Lepseic?, Soshikov, or Lindberg. maybe two of those guys.

Let's no worry too much about the expansion draft....if it ever happens, it's still only one guy to lose (for every team0

Thanks palhal. I obviously don't know the leaf prospects that well, but your suggestion has me lookin into those names you mentioned. Halla, I'm not married to the idea of Shaw being traded to Toronto. I think Philly would be a great system for Shaw and I really like the idea of getting the rights to Radko Gudas in a trade, but I don't think the Hawks have cap room to sign Gudas even if Philly was willing to deal him. Any other thoughts on a team that would trade for Shaw's rights? Oilers maybe?
