I agree that this team does age well and that Leafs fans should be more patient knowing what is in the pipeline (especially on the back end).
PS. i do feel like Spurgeon is a slight over payment. For a 7 year term, i think you could twist his arm down to 6mil (IF he is serious about competing for a cup)

Yeah, it could be Spurgeon, or someone else... there a few really good RHD UFAs in 2 years, and if there is a 7M budget, the Leafs should be able to land one. And then Mo finally gets his partner, and I think he's still only 25 or 26

yeah, I agree with that, too. And if Marleau retires, he'd be the only |RHD UFA this year that would fit this budget... IF, Marleau became the assitant coach to special teams..

But, if the rumours are true that Truba doesn't want to play in Canada long term, then I could see him getting traded and the Jets keep Myers. They must have the most dominate right side d in hockey right now. To lose Truba as a UFA in 2 years and let Myers walk this year would suck.
