yes they need wayy more balancing and there is 0 incentive for marleau to retire next year lmao. horton has no value at all. u cant justify any of these trades krieder is a strong 2 way player and teams wil pay a lot for him. he's the type of guy u want during playoffs
Oh I know that rangers one is off as I highlighted. Horton has 0 value...but if the leafs want to make adds for this TDL he's a contract they need to move to a financially strong team like the Rangers who can put him on LTIR (Leafs can't put him on LTIR this year because it will force their $3.7m in performance bonuses to next year's cap).
As for Marleau...I completely agree....and if you read my posts on here...I'm one of the few leaf fans shouting that it's near impossible for him to not play out his 3rd year in Toronto. But he's only owed $1.25m after July 1st and maybe there's a 5-10% chance his body doesn't feel up for another grind. This, again, ties into the NYR trade as they can't take on that Kreider contract next year if you have $6.25m on the left wing in Marleau.
I've been justifying Kapanen for Pesce all year. If you actually watch each guy on the ice you can see each has a significant impact on the game...and I can argue that Kapanen is the younger, cheaper and more complete player whereas Pesce is a one dimensional shut-down d-man....he's one of the best young shut-down d-men...but one dimensional
And if you don't think Jake Gardiner is worth at least a 2nd round pick then there's nothing else to discuss. He's honestly one of the top offensive d-men in the league on a great deal. People who think he's a turnover machine need to look at the actual turnover leaders amongst d-men and have a look at the names on that list.
