if Jets win
If you compare Copp stats of points and +/- you should see he will get around 3-3.5M.
Recent signings of Compher, Vrana and Burakovsky all got 3.25-3.5M short term. Copp has beter stats, He should be pushing to 3.5 3yrs. Winnipeg would probably go 3.25M for 4yrs.
Anything less of 3 he will go for arbitrator and still get what he wants.

no idea team should make playoffs this year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ragsandbluesfan</b></div><div>No need for any other goalie hart has to be fulltime from now on</div></div>
Your correct he should be fulltime but come playoffs you will need a backup. Elliot will get injured and they will need a decent goalie. If Anderson backs up Hart or Hart backs up Anderson, Philly needs options come playoffs

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Frankyhabs</b></div><div>The Metro will be very fun to watch this season. Every team could make the playoff it will be a WAR. With that said, on paper, Philly should be in the top 3. Washington/Philly/NYI are my picks but you can easily argue that these three will miss the playoff !</div></div>
I agree but I think its a toss up between NYI and PITTS. I don't see NYI having as good as a year as last.

Dead Wings
These are all bad trades.
Losing the two top penalty killers in a trade for Eriksson to sit make 6M on the 4th line is a bad idea. This trade would hurt the team more then helping.
Eller and Nielsen point production is the same and no need to shred money when wings are not hurting for cap. Better off keeping the picks.
Also svech will be in the AHL for recovery from injury. He’s not ready for NHL level yet. That injury will set him back behind the other prospects.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DiehardRedWingsFan58</b></div><div>No way we take Calle Jarnkrok back, We traded him for a reason. He wanted no part of Detroit he wanted out of the organization.</div></div>
From my understanding he was traded to pick up Legwand, a veteran player in hopes of helping the playoff run. There was talk of him wanting to return back to Sweden, I don't remember anything about him wanting to leave Detroit other then going back home. The trade left him no choice but to leave. Again coming back is to help bring in an older guy 30 point player to be a 4th liner at a cheaper rate then abby. Really any player they can add that's 30 point player for a couple years lift at 2M-3M to play the 4th line would be fine. They would have the cap room as well to not make that trade and keep Nielsen doesn't really matter

before anyone comments on AA, and Mantha's contract. Keep in mind they have one more year where they will preform and both hit 30 + goals. AA signs for less in hope for a bigger deal 5 yrs down the road. Mantha is just a happy guy. They only need a few trades and keep developing the young guys. keeps cap room for their signings

would be nice to see OS
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MacerV</b></div><div>Obviously, in this scenario, Rantanen signs and then Marner is offersheeted. If 12.5M is the number I don't see Toronto matching. Colorado is a talented team, and the first two 1st rounders are likely to be late, but after that with Makar, Landeskog, and others looking for raises and the goaltending spot opening wide up it could get chaotic.</div></div>
Glad you see where I was coming from MacerV. Agree would be hard next year but cap will go up to 83 probably and they would need to look at moving a couple players and hope some young ones can step in. Not resigning Wilson and Nieto is a start and Calvert the following year. Its all workable.

It all has to do with who signs first. For an offersheet to work, Marner would have to be above 12M. Rantanen to a 5 year deal would work since cap will always go up, will allow him to make more next signing. Yes Rantanen is a great player, Ideally he will sign before an offersheet is made and he should be satisfied with below 10M. Also Marner should get more than Rantanen comparing the points over 3 seasons. Not 3M difference just the way signing a player works and offersheets are.
