How about OTT keeps Chabot and that albatross of a contract, and PIT keeps Crosby. There. Now it's fair!

Norris has two seasons of less than 10 games played, 2 seasons in the 50's and one in the 60's. Hall and Dvorak have definitely had their injury woes, but not quite that bad. Though they have had longer careers so more runway. Murray is different, his career is probably done if this conditioning assignment does go well

Buf - Ott at the draft blockbuster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PenguinMullet68</b></div><div>or some picks</div></div>
I think it needs more substance than just picks. All 4 are not real high value assets. Greenway is a fine physical 3/4 liner. Bryson is a 7/8 D man on most teams or in the AHL. Jokiharju is a solid D man who can play up and down as needed. Krebs is still trying to find his game; he is not the scorer most thought he would be. It's he a physical bottom 6 player? Probably. And the 2 picks are already next year, when this year's pick has more value as a10-12 OA pick.
To get Brady to BUF it would have to be an overpay. Probably starting with Power and Savoie, plus this year's first.

Goalie carosel COL cap dump NJD toughens up BOS reloads
I like the arguments here for all 3 sides, but I see NJD as the absolute winner here - add in the retention and it's a no brainer. BOS probably wants more for the retention they are shelling out. But I would think COL values their assets much higher than just getting Ullmark out of this. Georgie is not a Vezina contender but his number are solid. Agree his usage has part to do with it too. Just my $0.02

At the very least, Rakell's contract off the books just makes room to make a better UFA signing to help next year's playoff push, if that's the direction the Pens want to go.</div></div>
All true; I just don't see PIT getting something better at this point in UFA for the 5M he takes up in cap. He is a decent player just not worth what he is getting paid. Would love to see Wright in PIT, just don't think this is the deal to do it

Not sure this is the right deal for these teams. SEA hasn't completely given up on Weight yet, though his development path is easily questioned. And PIT probably doesn't see Wright worth both of those assets.

No, no, I'm sure he needed that pick to draft Frank Nazar, who might one day be a middle six forward who has power play utility, ranking at best top 40 to 50 at his position.
Instead, he gets currently one of the best minute chewing D in the league.</div></div>

I think the answer is yes, if they wanted to. Bridge deals for Quinn and Peterka, plus Skinner coming off the books soon - and even if he re-ups it's no where near his 9M cap hit.

If Hutson is refuses to sign with the Habs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campabee</b></div><div>So you are trying to tell yourself that Aho holds more value than Makar?! Howabout Barzal, is he more valuable than Quinn Hughes? Does PLD hold more value than Fox? The answer to all those questions is a resounding no. Your argument doesn't hold water my friend, Hutson and Danielson have equal value right now according to guys like Pronman who actually know how to evaluate prospects who play different positions. Sorry but I will take their evaluations as accurate over yours.</div></div>
You still miss the point. If all else is equal - which is what you are saying by referring to them being "ranked" by one guy next to each other - then the big center is going to be valued more than the little defenseman. I am trying to illustrate the point as basic as possible.
Can one specific player (i.e. Makar) be more valuable than another in those positions (v. Aho), certainly. But Aho's overall rank is easily 20 slots below Makar. If we are talking MacKinnon v. Makar, the big center gets the nod, and probably every time.

But they can afford it right now; they need someone with Kadri's pedigree. Yes he is expensive but he will be off the books when they have to really pay Quinn, Peterka, etc...

If Hutson is refuses to sign with the Habs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campabee</b></div><div>LMAO, the <strong>only</strong> Habs fans trading Hutson are the ones who, like you know very little about his play both with and without the puck. Everyone knows he is an elite skater with elite hockey IQ and excellent edgework but he is also very good defensively and isn't knocked off the puck as much as you would think for a guy that's just 170lbs. Hutson has the potential to be the next Hughes/Makar/Fox type of player but to be honest, I would be happy if he was just a Spurgeon type of guy anything beyond a .5 ppg player is gravy IMO.
BTW on the top 100 prospects rankings Danielson is ranked 14th and Hutson is ranked 15th, so basically their value is equal, so 32 out of 32 teams wouldn't choose Danielson over Hutson, it would be more like 17 choose Danielson and 15 choose Hutson.</div></div>
I think you missed his point: a big center is more valuable to every team over a smaller defenseman, which is a generally true statement. That's the issue debating between 2 players who play different positions, unless one or both teams are dealing with s specific need

What's not to like? They could use another center - replacing Mitts as a top 3C. And dropping 15 slots might hurt but if the pick is out of the top 7-9 picks (depending on our thought of this draft class), does it matter that much?
Just curious
