104mil to sign MitchThank you Dubas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>draft_em_sign_em_trade_em</b></div><div>Because Dubas likes drafting Euro/Russian players and it's in those Rounds you can find a hidden diamond in the rough (or waste a pick by trying, most often the case).</div></div>
Well I mean considering Dubas and the Leafs are extremely well-versed in analytics, it's a known fact that the drop off between a 3rd pick and 7th round pick is almost non-existent. It's a market inefficiency to swing for the fences and draft small players with real talent/skill and develop them into complementary players for our star players (i.e. JT, Auston, Mitch and Willy) and Johnsson and Moore are perfect examples of this.

This article is pretty old in terms of new information and there's tons of models out there

That would be so bizarre if Lee goes, which I keep hearing is very likely. I swear Lou rubs off on people the wrong way but there's still hope in signing a UFA.

That's not similar at all, what I mean is that the concept of the trade is the type of trade that would be made and it reflects the $$ and roster changes.

It's still *close enough* in value, a lot of GM's are stupid.

I wouldn't say it's horrible, might have to retain on Z and idk if the leafs swing another trade with the Canes, but there's a bunch of solid top 4 RHD out there.

TML 2019-20
This is the optimal lineup when Dermott and Hyman come back and obviously it might not be Pesce but any of the solid top 4 RHD available works, and I really like Pesce. Sparks could be gone and if that happens they will sign a guy at a similar cap hit (less than 1mil), but I would give Sparks one more year as a prove it year. Not 100% Hainsey comes back but I'm coming around to that idea and they will probably sign someone like Tyler Ennis last year which would give them an extra scratch. Also I'm okay with Goat splitting time with Petan and rotating the 6th around, even try out 11F -7D maybe.

That's a dumb comment, he was a rookie goalie and barely played. He has 2 years left at a cheap number. You obviously 1) don't know how goalies work 2) don't know how Sparks ranks among backups relative to his cap hit. Gardiner does still belong, he is the most liked player on the team among players and is still a great d-man. It's not really about him, it's the cap hit he signs. And they are upgrading their RD either way.

And your cap problems aren't solved.
Try again.</div></div>
-No they didn't, and AJ is arb eligible so he won't get anything over $2.5m and theres no chance Kap even touches anything over 3
-And your rookie year is not a prove it year, he's a cheap backup
-No
-That would be huge if they can not retain anything
-They can be 10% over the cap all summer so it's not an issue at all you, you can easily read up on the CBA to learn how it works
-This is solid enough

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy739</b></div><div>Zaitsev's contract bad because as TML adds more talent and depth he declines steadily every year .
when all you have is Bozak and Kadri then you become a part of the play whether you're capable or not . the issue becomes when they were bottom team in the league winning Mathews that season in the draft , they tend to look less critically at his turnovers , and 2 way game . As they begin to succeed with Babcock building his team around speed and youth Zaitsev just hasnt been able to get his **** together .
Zaitsev's not bad he's just a rebuilding teams 4th D at best and no contender can afford to pay him as he has little to no heart</div></div>
Yeah I mostly agree with that take, IMO it seems like Z doesn't care that much and hasn't taken any development steps at all. I understand it's not easy moving to North America and not knowing any english but it's clearly affecting his play, other than his average rookie year.

He isn't doing well because he's not with Matthews. What I'm trying to say is that Willy has been good all round, at times amazing, and at times not good. It would 100% be Nylander>Svech before Svech>Willy.

Three, so because Marner keepes getting better means that Nylander will as well because they are the exact same person? Marner has way more talent than Nylander.
So you keep calling us all stupid but it seems to be you who doesn't know fk all! Oh, and I watch enough Leafs games to see when a guy isn't playing well. I also watch basically every Flyers game. Now go back to your mom's basement and rub one out to your Willy Nye poster.</div></div>

That's almost embarrassing to say, and I know you probably watch like every 4th flyer game and watch the leafs once a year but he literally produced the exact same as Mitch for the first 2 years, this year has been rough in terms of production but it's like 20 games and no one cares at all, he hasn't magically forgot to play hockey, he just hasn't got lucky. You keep bringing up production, because you don't actually watch the games and know anything about how he plays. We're talking about William Nylander dude, the guy is an elite elite playmaker and before this season was the exact same as Marner (in terms of every stat possible). There's no point in trying to have a meaningful conversation with a troll who keeps repeating the same points. That P1/60 number is lower than Josh Leivo. But yes, he’s been one of the better Leafs this year. I guess it’s possible you think that because his underlying metrics are decent, but he plays for a team that completely dominates underlying metrics. You’re out of your mind.</div></div>
Well that is very funny coming from the PDO Islanders ahhaha. And don't talk about Josh Leivo, I'm still upset that Babs wouldn't play him and he got traded (his childhood house is like 5mins away from mine). Also since he's been back (and I've watched every single game he's played for the leafs) he looked rough for games 3-10 and then was back to being dominant. He's been one of the top 5 F's undisputed. And seriously you need to check things before you say them... 10mil??? His AAV is 6.9mil... that's 3mil less than what you *thought*. You're out of your mind.
