true i think with craig smith now its unlikely but man that would be a sweet deal for edmonton but makes no snese for boston

Oilers REALISTIC offseason plan
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nhl_oilers</b></div><div>I wouldn’t want to regret Bears long term contract. I would do 2 year prove it. And for Barrie 1-2 year is fair, if he doesn’t want to come then he can be on a worse team for 5+ years. Bouchard will take his spot in a few.</div></div>
id go for vatanen then

Oilers REALISTIC offseason plan
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bringer_Of_Snow</b></div><div>signing rights for a 3rd line center is worth like a conditional 7th rounder max.
Is the Florida trade a joke? Oilers move up 2 picks and get rid of Nurse? If you are picking a in the 10-20 range, its an absolute crap shoot. A guy ranked 10 can easily fall to 20. Moving up 2 picks in that range is not worth Darnell Nurse. I am an Oilers fan and don't like Nurse that much, as he certainly has break downs, but you are clueless if you think his value is equivalent to moving up from 14 to 12. Not even close.</div></div>
its a deep ass draft that 12th gives them a option between rather seth jarvis or jack quinn who can be very good in the future for our offence. i havent liked nurse he messes up simple defensive plays and honestly isnt anything crazy special offensively like other dman im freeing up nurse and taking barrie all day

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mm1010</b></div><div>so you are giving them nurse to move up 2 spots and have a couple extra days to try and sign huala.... sounds like a perfectly awful idea.
I would not give barrie that long of term or that money based off his last season as well with bear and bouchard coming in.
also wouldnt give benning 2 million maybe 1.5 as he will end up as 6-7 dman.
also i know alot of peopl always say you cant trade russell. i think you can with out retaining as may teams have internal caps but will still need to get to the cap floor. russell only makes 1.5mill this year with a 4 mill cap hit looks perfect for an ottawa or a NJD.</div></div>
i havent been a big fan of nurses play he just messes up simple easy defensive plays. i think seth jarvis or jack quinn can be very good in the future so moving up gives u an option to take either or. i would not pay nurse 8 million after this contract is up if he plays like he did last 2 years. barries gonna want a long term contract sooo idk maybe u go with vatanen instead

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nhl_oilers</b></div><div>Not a fan of any trade except the New Jersey, and SAN Jose ones. New Jersey wouldn’t do that in a million years though. I wish they would. I would give Bear a 2 year prove it deal, and Barrie only like 1-2 years, because Bouchard will take his spot in a few. I also think Puljujarvi is coming back to play with McDavid. I’m so excited for that! Broberg most likely won’t be up as well. I don’t mind the Russell and Khaira trades though. If we somehow got Bratt I would I want to lock him up at 8 years, he got 32 points on a bad team imagine what he could get with McDavid.</div></div>
yeah i was thinking either domi or bratt but ig devils fans love him so i doubt that trade happens. bear if he does good in his prove contract hes gonna want a whole lot of money so maybe locking him up for a long time early is a risk that can be a big reward. barrie would not want a 1-2 year deal he wants to be stable and stay with a team at 29 years old. i think broberg or bouch can step in its either or

i was thinking either larsson for domi or for bratt i just went for the cheaper option but bratt does show a lot of promise so devils might want a pick back in return as well too sweeten the deal or a prospect

russell is a good 3rd pair guy but yeah the contract is a lot. it really depends on if sharks believe they can make the playoffs or not if they dont they take the deal if they do they try and get a better option

oops my bad i didnt mean rfa signing rights i meant u trade for the player on draft day so u have first dibs on him in the resing stage instead of letting him go to FA where another team can snag him. example is when flyers traded for kevin hayes from winnpeg for like a 5th round pick just so they can sign him

dell also is not a RFA but oilers would acquire him to sign him before FA
