<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ducks11</b></div><div>Because with Dal Colle, you are probably getting something similar to Ritchie anyway. A Top 10 pick from the 2014 draft who is underwhelming their lofty pre-draft expectations. Ducks need younger talent in the pipeline. Not saying Dal Colle can't turn things around, but Ducks swapping out Ritchie for another non-speedster project doesn't really help nor fit into the roster.</div></div>
totally understand, just thought it might be a good change of scenary

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jah1722</b></div><div>You traded 2 guys that could actually skate and signed JVR and added Hoffman. This team is the slowest team in the league by far now. Kase and terry are the only 2 guys with any pace in their game.</div></div>
so what you're saying is that Rakell, Henrique, JVR, Hoffman, Montour, Fowler and Lindholm are slow as molasses? because i'm pretty sure we are just as fast if not faster because Getzlaf can still haul ass down the ice and our top 6 is still pretty damn fast, the only players that are slowing down are Perry and Kesler and the bottom six is still just as fast with the only slow players being Eaves and Ritchie... I don't get why you're saying the team is slow because its really not, sure we added two veteran defenders in Hamius and Johnson but if we are rolling Petterson then why does it matter to have a slower beast of a D-man in Manson and having 1 or two great top 6 Veteran D-men in the lineup each night, our team would be so stacked and we'd have a major cup run next year

Minor Adjustments and Youth
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ducks11</b></div><div>I think the reason you trade Petterson is exactly because he isn't a top four D. He won't pass up the four ahead of him and the defensemen below him need a shot as well (espcially Laarson). You package him with Ritchie to recoup some value. I don't think realistically Ritchie gets moved either, but if Murray really wants to get faster and more disciplined, he has to move on from one of the slower players who takes bad penalties. With Eaves coming back and Terry in line for some playing time, moving Ritchie helps with the cap to get some younger players in like Jones. There just isn't enough forward spots keeping Ritchie. I think Brown is the 4th line player the Ducks need. Not Ritchie.</div></div>
understandable, why not trade him to the Isles for Dal-Cole and a third?

why are you trading Tatar for a 6th when you traded a 1st 2nd and 3rd for him and scratch him like overnight I don't get it, why happened? did he just like suck so much balls that he doesn't deserve ice time??

Minor Adjustments and Youth
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ducks11</b></div><div>If you look back at Murray's RFA's, he definitely plays hard ball with them. Rakell was an all-star last year and only makes $3.789M. Hampus is only making $5.25M.
He's going to be under $4M for sure unless he signs like a 6-8 year extension and even then he isn't going to be close to $5M. Most likely gets the Sami Vatanen show me contract for a year or two.
Ritchie doesn't have great value right now, but packaging him and Petterson together helps recoup a 2nd and 3rd. Too many forwards and too many young defensemen so there is a logjam at both. Petterson is redundant with Laarson, Welenski, Mahura and Megna waiting. Plus Petterson is never going to be above Hampus, Manson, Fowler or Montour so might as well get a pick now.</div></div>
petterson won't be getting moved and neither will Ritchie, Petterson isn't a top four D and he won't be for at the leastawother season or two... I like the signings but the trade is just pointless tbh

im a fan of the Domi and Ho-Sang acquisitions, I think that would benefit the team a lot because of the Low risk high reward there is but I think if we trade Ritchie we should probably keep Jones but thats my opinion

Draft + Off-season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jah1722</b></div><div>Berra went over seas. JT Brown isn’t going to sign just to be treaded when he can choose his landing spot. The Orpik trade is dumb. No one is going to want that cap hit at the deadline. He’s not re-tradable. If silf gets moved it better be for more than futures. Oh and not to mention Eaves is expected to be ready to go early in the season if not opening night.</div></div>
all these trades happen at the draft, the only reason I signed him was to show he was involved in a trade, Orpik only has one year left on his contract so we can easily trade him at the deadline with 50% salary retention but if we got Hoffman and JVR then getting a future roster player for silvferberg is doable because Rakell can play first/second line RW while JVR takes 1st line LW followed behind Hoffman. I think this puts the ducks in a better position to score a lot more and still fill our prospect pool because the 2019 draft is weak AF so we won't get much unless we tank hard next year and I doubt thats going to happen

what I'm about to say is probably going to make you say well then get lost because Ottawa won't take this" but hear me out... Steel is basically untouchable and it would have to be Jones and a first rounder because I highly doubt BM moves steal but that being said we would probably have to add a 2nd round pick or a 3rd and take on Bobby Ryan's contract (with some possible cap retention, if not from the tens then a third party team)

thats what I mean... Silfvy a first and Jones but honestly I think wed maybe give up silfvy a first and a player like Peterson or another one of our D prospects

off-season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jah1722</b></div><div>Murray didn’t use his 1st to get Kane at the deadline so I highly doubt he trades 1st and 3rd at the draft. Also Eaves will be back for the start of next season based off of exit interviews today. Hurt his shoulder rehabbing form his condition and that’s why he didn’t come back at the end of season.</div></div>
yeah but lets be real, these players are not rental players like Kane, yeah he can be resigned possibly by the sharks but at the end of the day he is still a rental player and the first makes sense to me because we would be getting Bobby Ryan (MAH BOI) where he can rekindle his flame with chemistry from Getz and Pers so he produces more and we get Hoffman who is an absolute beast when the team is good but I think a first is sufficient to be expendable for these two guys especially with the salary retention I think its a fair trade for both teams, maybe a bit of an overpayment on Anaheim's side but I genuinely think this would be a smart move for the ducks to make to strengthen the top six while still having a lethal third line and a revamped younger faster fourth line
as for the Eaves thing... I understand where you're coming from for the sake of this armchair GM I was either going to buy him out or trade him, I get Eaves is a fan favourite but I honestly don't think he'd be able to put up the numbers he did when we traded for him (yeah thats kind of a given but I don't see him getting anywhere near his 30 something goals he had back in 2017)

im not an Ottawa fan but id assume it would be the same as Pacioretty being a prospect and a 1st rounder but I bet Silfverberg and a 1st and 3rd would be sufficient but then again I'm not an Ottawa fan...
