Only Need to fix lines, no big trades (Except JVR)
I'm not sure if Toronto will buy or sell, and it could even be a bit of both. But <em>if they do</em> sell why not trade Bozak and Komarov instead of (or as well as) JVR? If any of those guys stays long term, I would expect that it's VanRiemsdyk.
Plus I don't think your lines are any better than Babcock's, to be honest.

Deadline deals: Nash, Pit, Chi. Critique away
I think you're a bit optimistic on the Nyquist trade, but you're also retaining money, so maybe that's pretty close. I don't think Chicago is going to be a buyer, but there's a handful of other teams that will pay a 1st for green, so that's a good one. Howard will absolutely not get a 1st rounder back, but you have the right idea to move him, and the Pens might be a fit.
Small complaints, but overall good suggestions. I doubt Detroit will be able to haul in 3 more picks in round 1, but I like it.

ovechkin
So Washington gives the finger to their fans by trading Ovechkin. And they have to retain salary on him in order to do it? Nope.

Chiarelli gets Dion
Does Dion still have that no-trade-clause? Because I doubt he would sign off on a trade to Edmonton. And I also doubt that the Oilers would add the 3rd rounder for this trade. They wouldn't take the deal if the 3rd was going the other way.

I agree completely. That's a downgrade on both players for the Sabres. And why would Montreal trade a 1st rounder just to get a D man? That's not what they need.

Well, I'll assume that the Tampa trade here was a mistake. You probably meant to remove the trade, or add someone else to it, and just missed a click of the mouse. Moving on.
You're too optimistic about bringing in Couture and Duchene. Each guy would cost more than you gave up. But at least you have a game plan, which seems to be "get better down the middle." And I completely agree with that.

D trades
VAN could get better for Tanev. And even still, they don't seem like they are selling everything off while Daniel and Henrik are still playing.
And the Anaheim deal is just straight up bad. They wouldn't trade Montour for JVR straight up. I'm sure adding a bunch of our surplus scraps isn't going to convince them. Such a quantity for quality suggestion. Throwing the 7th rounder in there is a joke. That's like going to an auction and upping the bid by a single dollar. It's worthless.

2 year rebuild
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KEEPVTWIERD</b></div><div>Are you forgetting about Nico Hischier just put Johansson on wing and Hischier at center instead.</div></div>
Ya, that's a good plan. I wasn't too worried about setting the lines. I can't say for sure if Hischier is NHL ready or not.
I was more interested in the long term plan. Even the trades can be adjusted here and there, or find a different trade partner. But the goal was a plan that can get NJ the needed changes in 2 years. I think this plan works.

Trying to accelerate the rebuild in 2018/19
Turris would be great for Vancouver, and it's conceivable that he would sign there. But you're being a bit too optimistic to think that the (arguably) best C and D in that free agency class will both sign in Vancouver. In all honesty, VAN won't be able to do a rebuild by just signing free agents.
Any roster would look pretty good if you add Turris and Carlson.

Well I clearly didn't understand that, I'll admit it. But were is it actually described as such? There is just a title, no description of any kind. I even asked in my post how he came up with the roster. You were a whole lot more rude to me just now than I was to the guy who made the team.

How did you come up with this roster? What can an expansion team possible do to get Bergeron or Drouin or Letang? And you're substantially over the cap.
Is this your fantasy team roster? Because if it's a banger league with like 20 teams, you may be in OK shape. Great goaltending! But if this is an attempt to see what another expansion team would look like, then it is a mess of gibberish.

18/19 Cap Hell Fix
That's a lot of money and term you just gave out. Doesn't look like a fix to the cap problem to me. Trading Sheahan, Green, and Howard is small potatoes. Their contracts all expire soon enough. The real cap problem in Detroit is Abdelkader, Helm, Glendenning, Ericsson, and DeKeyser. They're all still there.
Nothing wrong with the signings/trades you suggested. But after it all you have like two and a half million in cap space and a roster that's almost all locked up long-term. You better hope this roster can compete, and I don't think they would with that blueline.

Vancouver and Philly trades
Horvat just signed a team friendly contract, and is all but guaranteed to be the next captain in Vancouver. Granlund had a really good season, sure. But Horvat is just too important to trade away for the sake of a bit more scoring.

Sellers at the deadline
Not sure any of these trades go through exactly as they are. But seems pretty good at a glance. Especially the Toronto and Edmonton deals. The Leafs probably want D experience going into the playoffs, and can afford some youth. And Neal can score more than RNH, but the long contract of Nuge would be good for Vegas.
I like it.

Duchene to Bahhhston?
Good on you for offering something substantial for Duchene. Not knocking anyone's socks off, but still substantial. And that's an honest evaluation of Pastrnak. He'll get paid.
I don't get the other trades, though. Vegas doesn't need or want Khudobin. And, even with retention, you'll probably struggle to get a 7th for Beleskey. Arizona doesn't have the roster spots to give jobs to just anyone anymore.

Backup Needed
I think Stalock is the guy. Minnesota is in a funny situation because Dubnyk likes to play every game. He's pretty much guaranteed to play close to 70 games if he's healthy. So Minny, with their strong blue line, can handle a weak~ish backup. By doing so, they save money on the position, since Stalock makes peanuts.
There's a pretty good chance they grab someone off waivers, though. Like Hutchinson from Winnipeg. He'll probably hit waivers during pre-season.

Well, none of the trades are bang on, but the concept is pretty good. Rather than pick on trades one way or the other, you deserve credit for having an overall plan that would probably work. A pick here or there, or having a different trading partner would solve the small stuff.
This concept is going in the right direction.

So Buffalo is going to ice two NHL teams this season? Because you traded almost an entire roster's worth of players to them.
Did you make a mistake and this was supposed to be 6 different trades to 6 different teams?

Trade a few picks to setup for the future
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Detroit has maybe the worse cap problem in the league. They just can't Moulsen's cap. And while the Leafs would love a top 10 pick....they don't have cap either in the future for a non performer.</div></div>
I probably should have said, this suggestion goes hand in hand with some of my other ArmchairGM teams. The theory is that Detroit sells off usefull players like Green and Nyquist for picks, and brings in some cap dumps for picks. And I think Babcock could get a lot better out of BoGo in Toronto.

Not sure if Meer is enough to get Nyquist, but it's a sensible idea. BUT Hutch on waivers is a distinct possibility, and would be good for SJ. I like it. The Sharks can still Co tend if they play their cards right.

Time to shed
Wastes a rention spot to hold back just 250K on Mrazek. And I don't think CGY would make that deal nless they have serious goalie troubles to start the year.
I think Green has to get you a 1st round pick back. He's one of the only tradeable players on DET that can fetch one. Just retain whatever you need to and send him to TOR/BUF/DAL.
