so you are saying calgary needs to retain salary for hamonic plus also give a 1st rounder and moreover get ceci without any salary retain. Furthermore, after doing all that ceci is on LTIR? My head hurts when it shouldn't.

Had very high hope for Ho-Sang from his windsor days but too bad nothing has come out of it. I cant see a waver pick up on a top 6 on any team though. I guess goes to show how much of a hole buffalo has.

feel so bad for jets. everything seems to be falling apart :(
its scary to think if they dont get some D they might miss the playoffs or lot of jets D has to step it up.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>People on this site get way too hung up on mid round picks, a 3rd round pick is likely at least three seasons away from contributing at the NHL level if they ever even make it so sending one along for a former 4th overall pick isn't that big of an ask.
If it's really that big of a deal breaker make the trade Honka, 3rd For Pulujarvi, 5th round or later pick that way it's an equal number of assets swapped but the team giving up the higher potential player gets the earlier draft pick.</div></div>

so gms should put draft picks on a trade based on what people are looking at online on capfriendly. #greatidea

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>It's possible as a high end projection but 5 years from now, I could definitely see $94M+ with Seattle expansion, new CBA, and new network agreements.</div></div>
like i said 5 years is a longgggg time in NHL and I hope they can get their but I dont see it.
this is a quote written by mirtle back in 2013. Yea, you can say mirtle isn't anything legit but there is more than one article saying this back in 2013
"Mirtle also predicts the NHL salary cap will reach $80 million by 2016-17, and $100 million (with a cap floor at more than $75 million) by the time the CBA expires in 2022."
as we can see we are just breaking 80 mil mark in 19-20 season - 3 seasons behind.

He went on to say that they expect the cap to jump to 90 mil, then 95, then 100 in the following years after the deal</div></div>
when rogers got tv deal of 5.2 billion dollars how much did the cap go up by? wow, 5 mil jump after the tv deal. oh my! like i said i hope they can but i cant see it.

Now what
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Random2152</b></div><div>That and the fact that there isn't much to do anymore. Demrott is the only major contract and he should get done on the cheap. The leafs top 9 is locked in with term and there are already guys banging on the door also locked into term (Moore).
On the d side lily and sandin and nearly ready to step in and with Dermott being done by then that is a significant part of the back end for cheap. It essentially means we can afford to sign a guy to fill in the gap on defence in the coming years until lily and sandin are fully top 4 guys since we don't need it worry about much else.
Also the NHL is forcasting a 100 million dollar cap in 4-5 years so I am not overly worried about the long term. There will always be something to get done each year but the bulk of the work is done. Once we are through this year we will be tight but there won't be a major cap crunch.</div></div>
I agree to most of the things you said. only thing I have hard time seeing is 100 mil cap in 4-5 years.... wow I really hope so. so lets say even with US tv deal and new team cap goes up but can i see it going up almost 20 mil. Just this past jan they said cap would most like be around 84 mil even that didn't happen. Like i said 4-5 years is a long time and crazy things can happen but the way it is I dont see it at 100 mil in 4 to 5 years but i hope i am wrong.

Why are you so defensive?</div></div>
both of you are right and both of you are wrong. I see one guy seeing NOW and lets worry about future later, they have this team for a year and a lot can happen in a year plus also a little defensive. Another guy, is looking at a future as a good GM does. I think lets give leafs fan sometime to just relax and be happy about everyone getting signed as they have had a stressful summer.

14th overall vs 4th overall but both want out, both haven't worked out for each team. edmonton fans are still sour about D and forward trade between Hall and Larsson trade so i see where you are coming from but if i am stars and if edmonton says give me more than I am out. I feel like I am giving something to edmonton for a player who wants nothing to do with edmonton and is playing in Finland. Plus, I dont see anyone else jumping to get Puljujarvi all summer.

Kyle Connor deal based on what Marner got

well all the top RFA are going the show me the $$ way. if I am Laine, he will say I have got 110 goals in the last 3 years (that might be the most goals of any RFA this year) and even on my off year I still got 30 goals.
I see your point on why it would benefit the team for 1 or 2 year deal but if I am Laine I want the cash now.

7.8 left for Laine. people talk about leafs all the time that they are in cap crunch... jets are a bigger cap issue for a team that should be 4, 5 mil less than what the ceiling is. I salute the jets owners for spending money to the max.

Cap Dumps
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>So Edmonton needs a Dman, but you really think Sandin and Liljegren NHL ready in October.</div></div>
i do agree with palhal here. although sandin and liljegren might crack the lineup you don't want to give them almost no mins in NHL. I would get Sandin up for 9 games and see how he does and by that time dermott should be back up and when he does and if Sandin is just okay then i would send him back down as for liljegren i would leave him on AHL for another season. All this will depend on how they play this pre season.

true and i sure will not hold my breath but it will surely be higher tv deal than what it is now. which is why i said it might not go up to 90 mil but is 86 to 88 mil possible? I think so.
