The word is could. Yes Byron production ''could'' but as most of the player in the NHL that could play with Mcdavid. Career high 43 points, if I was a GM, I would not prefedict Byron with ''Could'' because he is pass the age of 30. I would pickup a younger player with young fast legs. Mete is good, but has not score a goal yet. Nurse is too valuable for the Oilers until their prospect(s) are ready to have an impact.

They want to use Puljujärvi to pass Lucic contract to someone else, if they trade Puljujärvi, they are stuck with Lucic unless they take a bad contract back or pay extra draft pick

Narleu would be like a rental player at the beginning of the season. He has histoy there and it could be a good fit, but San Jose I think need help on the cap. At 3.625m$ is fine too, MTL has space on the cap for next year.

You are right, the leaf can make the deal somewhere else, but .... why not MTL lol

in 19-20 MTL have cap space, instead of investing on UFA, just an opportunity to use the cap to gain picks in 2019. TOR will need to eat a bit of salary to be able to turn it over to San Jose, MTL will take what they can at 50%. I don't think Marleau would waive his NTM to many team, SJ might be a favorable place for him. Most contender don't have space and are looking to make space.

I like that approach also, but does molson would accept that. 4 years out of 5 out of the playoff, especially after this year where MTL was very close to be in the wild card.

I don't think many UFA that could make a big impact will sign in montreal. Left hand D is a need and nothing is coming up for a while, we will need to offer lenght and money to the 2019 UFA Left D. Is MTL will make the playoff with Armia and Lehkonen? They are part of it, but not the solution. In my opinion, Suzuki is the cheaper alternative, if we don't make the playoff in 19-20, I prefer Suzuki playing somes games on a third lines and PP time, Like KK did this year. With Boston, Tampa and Toronto, MTL is left with the wild card. 4 years off the playoff in the last 5, it's not the scenario bergevin I think he going toward. Bergevin didn't made any big trade, he wanted to draft well and develop player. At some point, the busines s need to flourish, otherwise Molson will change the GM.

With a good prospect pool and this year draft and with 20-21 draft selection, MTL will have amunition to complete a trade either during the 19-20 season or after. Right now, everyone is looking to get younger, add better player, get rid of old player/heavy contract and add draft pick. IMO, why not adding the Suzuki/ Poehling next, they are MTL future with KK.
