We get it, you don't like Kakkos stats lol. He's cheaper which means he fits. Either way, has been a beast and will stay.

Playoff Rentals
Out 2 1sts, 5 picks, trade assets & cap for a rental, offensive winger & lack of needed depth, leaving us with Gauthier, Jones, Carpenter for the playoffs. Kane would have to guarantee the cup this year while plugging those heavy holes. Opposite of what we need to do

NYRANGERS
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>I agree, he's strong on the puck and defensively strong....I mentioned that earlier, but ultimately he needs to put up points otherwise he's a middle 6 winger and not a top 6 line driver he was highly touted as being.</div></div>
I don't think he'll ever be an elite point producer, but by no means does that mean he can't be a key cog in a very good or even championship team. And where he ends up fitting- top line/top 6/mid 6, etc...that all remains to be seen. He is fitting well with the top line right now- but Zibs and Kreider have yet to develop the 5X5 chemistry with him. Really is no reason why that shouldn't develop- I mean the things Kakko does along the boards and in possession...who wouldn't want him as a line mate? And hey- I'm not predicting a breakout as a mega point producer... but as his confidence grows- and you can see that happening- sky could be the limit. We'll see- that's what the games are for!

NYRANGERS
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChiHawk</b></div><div>I would be a little worried if I was a rangers fan. Being scratched last playoff run, 3 points in 10 games this season, 18 points in 43 games last season, 5 points in 19 playoff games last year....wreaks of a middle 6 complimentary winger...even Dach is outplaying him and Dach has been frustrating to watch. KK is only 21 so hopefully he turns into what he was projected as in the next couple seasons as I had him rated much higher then Dach predraft, but not sure if this is NYR not developing him well or he's struggling to transition to the NHL.</div></div>
I guess you are not watching him play…the guy is a possession beast. The points will come…but even if they don’t, what he’s doing possession wise to help his line mates should really pay dividends…FWIW, Zib and Kreider haven’t played with a play driver like Kakko for quite some time…once they get in sync, watch out!

easiest rangers pass in the history of trades they've had. Also, you can't have conditions based on resigning.

Not enough for Chytil imo. Plus if that’s the contract to resign him, we definitely keep him. He’s been great and far more assertive since the playoffs.

Why is Dallas giving up the young RHD they just acquired from the Rangers after only 2 games?
And why are the Rangers forking over the 1st Rounder that they got in that trade, to reacquire that same young RHD that personally requested a change of scenery out of NY?

Why would the rangers trade a good young center in Chytil, a young d men with third pair upside in Jones, and Kravtsov who also has talent for Carson Soucy and Morgan Geekie? Makes no sense for NYR.

Miller to NYI for Raty Bellows and more
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>delneggs</b></div><div>Every team has young players that the fan base doesn't want traded, especially for rentals. Canuck fans are no different. So Islander fans get tired of repeatedly saying Raty and Dobson are untouchable, so can you blame them. If I post a Podkolzin trade it gets taken down within 10 minutes because Canuck fans complain to the monitors because they don't like it. So maybe Canuck fans should stop harping on trades for players they KNOW will just get a negative response from the other teams fan base. Just a thought.</div></div>
The dude also suggested a contract Miller would never sign. A lot of fans out there care more about “winning” when it comes to their fake trace proposals. Like dude. We don’t make those calls. We r legit just discussing what would be fair value. And it seems like some Canucks fans really struggle with the idea JT Miller isn’t the second coming lmao.

Nope they want to rip everyone off and get offended when we call them out on it.

I really liked having World Juniors in the summer. Not just because of the fact I got to watch hockey in august. But because it reminded people that some prospects r really ****ing good and won’t get traded for rentals.

Trade deadline deals
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>delneggs</b></div><div>Copp is way younger and they were hoping to sign him long term, which is not the case with Wheeler, so the comparison makes no sense. Plus with the signing if Trocheck long term they have 1C and 2C figured out and Laffy and Kakko for top two lines on RW, so zero need for an old Wheeler. Certainly not giving up a 22 year old with a ton of skill and a 1st round pick to rent him either.</div></div>
That is a fair evaluation. So the Rangers are not a fit. Some team will pony up at the deadline.

open question trade suggestions
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>delneggs</b></div><div>I'm fine with trading Chytil unless his play next year is similar to his playoff performance. If he regresses, then it's time to move him. Who know with Kravstov, we have never seen him play a real NHL game, so until he does, it's all just a guess. I would like to see him succeed in NY because he has a ton of talent, but it's on him to show it.
I have no idea where JT will end up. His next contract is going to be very costly and for a lot of years as his production will be declining, so if Vancouver wants max value, they need to find a team with that kind of cap room and who also want to gamble on his future production. There are not many teams that fit that bill. Maybe the Isles if they don't land Kadri? Maybe the Blue Jackets since he is from Ohio? I don't know, I just think it's funny that most of the trades for him on this site are to teams that can only rent him for a year max, but the value going back the other way is if he was Gretzky in his prime.</div></div>
Yeah CBJ makes sense. They are too in a bit of Cap conundrum (who isn't right) I just don't hope they would trade for JT. Mostly because they don't need to prove they are a playoff team this year.
But Gaudreau, Laine and Miller that would be pretty sick. But also a team like Arizona also... I think Miller is just the kind of leader presence they could clue on to. But again as a free agent (not trading for him)
Thanks for your thoughts.
