totally unsure at this point.... is he a lock to make the team now? If he makes the NHL team probably not much needs to be added, but if he's an AHLer I would probably want more.

2017-18 GM Game - Assistant General Managers Wanted Thread
:ducks
The Anaheim Ducks are pleased to report that we have an opening for an Assistant GM. Anyone interested can Email me at Topcornershot99@mail.com
I have already received some interest so now is the time to reply. I believe I read in the rules, and I need this to be confirmed still, but each GM can have 2 AGM's on board so I would like to fill those slots as soon as possible.

Keller is NHL ready, which is why I'd want him. I'd up my offer to Jones + Pettersson.

Opening Night
Judging by the lines you haven't watched the preseason games yet or you think a lot of things will change.
I don't see McAvoy being with Chara and Carlo being with Miller. Flipping McAvoy and Carlo would solve that equation.
Purcell hasn't earned himself a contract thus far, we'll have to see him get better to receive one.
Agostino is unnoticeable most of the time, he's likely to be the 13th or 14th F.
Beleskey is a toss up with Schaller being his competition at the 4th line LW spot.
This isn't terrible, but the Defensive pairings is what turned this mock into a 3 star instead of a 4 star for me. Good attempt.

I highly doubt the guy I'd personally rate as the worst GM in the league would be smart enough to test his moves out on here before he does him. Pretty much everything he's done so far has gotten a bad reaction from every hockey fan, so it's much more likely he's just oblivious to this website and the knowledge you can gain from using it. Almost all his moves are Brutal, so if he was on here, I'd definitely be wondering which people are telling him the things he's doing are good ideas. That would people who are the complete worst influence on here if he's tested everything out here and felt like it was all approved for success.

Spooner and Beleskey: Possible Odd Men Out
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HockeyNM1510</b></div><div>What would Boston want in return for Spooner?</div></div>
Probably a 2nd Round Pick + Long Shot Prospect. Someone like Kurally who has an outside chance at some type of role in the NHL. That's the price if they decide to get aggressive about moving him and no longer want him around.
If they are intent on keeping him on the bench if this situation unfolds the way I have it and just keep him along for the ride knowing that injuries are a likely outcome, then it'd be a steeper price. Up to 2x 2nd round picks, like we got for Boychuk and like we paid for Brett Connolly. He's somewhere in between those 2 in terms of value, so it's not unreasonable to think he could land 2x 2nds if the right situation presents itself. That's just my take on the situation.
We really just re-signed him for precautionary reasons and to insure that we get something in return for him. No-one knows what we'll get for him yet, wether it's production on the ice or assets from another team in a trade.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TopCornerShot</b></div><div>Okay, head over to my page in the GM game 2017-2018 and please notify me of who you are, what teams you follow and what you think you might add to the team (Anaheim). I believe with the current rules there is indeed room for multiple Assistant GM roles for each team and the end goal in doing this is not to just become an Assistant and stay there. The end goal is to be able to take over your own team and be able to call all the shots. I started as an assistant manager in season 1 with Matt59 in CBJ, It was a good experience and I got promoted to San Jose partway through the year. I still run San Jose in season 1 as well, so It'd be good for me to have multiple AGM's, especially if you would like to participate in both seasons as a part of both teams core. There are some restrictions to what you can do as an assistant GM, but the main goal in the position is to converse with other GM's and find out what they feel they want to move off their roster as well as what they feel they would like to receive for the assets they are moving. It's going to be an important role because my AGM's and I will be rated in season 2 for the moves we make. I'll see if I can set up a thread in the GM Game 2017-2018 thread for prospective AGM's so you guys can tell me a bit about your hockey knowledge.</div></div>
Apparently I will not be able to make a thread to talk to you about your interest in joining the Anaheim Ducks staff. Instead you can reach me via Twitter as TopCornerShot99 or via Email TopCornerShot99@mail.com. Those are the options right now if you do have some interest in the game. If you were perhaps looking to join a different affiliation I could also probably help steer you to that particular team if they were interested in having an Assistant GM.

He's still got a shot? I thought your team had more forwards than they knew what to do with.... especially at C and given his age, I figured he'd spend most the year if not all of it in the AHL. If he was to be an NHL player this year I would apologize for the low offer as my guys are basically clear cut projects who have potential moving into the future, but aren't instant assets at the NHL level.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Calgary13</b></div><div><div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TopCornerShot</b></div><div>
It's not like that at all. I apologize if it seems that way, but it's not the way I'm intending you to be feeling. I know a lot about the Bruins and I see the team differently than you. I expected you to be making your 13th forward available for trade at a reasonable price for futures, but you want a "good pick" for him, which is apparently better than a 3rd + a 3rd round drafted prospect. If you felt that strongly about him I would have assumed he'd be in your top 9.
I'll give you some information about the Bruins training camp because I like you much more than you like me. The team ran 2x 3rd lines. One with LW Vatrano C JFK RW Backes and one with LW Beleskey C Spooner RW Teddy Purcell. With this knowledge in mind, as well as the knowledge that Ryan Spooner was played at LW last season for awhile and underperformed, the competition in the 3rd line is most likely to be 2 battles at 2 spots. Vatrano and Beleskey are basically fighting to be the starting LW and JFK and Spooner are battling for 3rd C duties. I feel strongly that the line of Vatrano JFK Backes will just be kept intact and Spooner will be paying the price by riding the bench in part because of his playoff failures last year and also because he wanted player elected arbitration and made the team pay him so much when he didn't contribute at that level. Spooner was dangled in the offseason for Scandella and others, so that gives you a small glimpse into what Bruce Cassidy values him at going forward.</div></div>
The Bruins are my second favorite team. I know what's happening with them. Vatrano, in my opinion, is the 3rd line LW if Spooner wins the center job (which is his unless JFK proves he's already better, though I think he could benefit from a month in Providence). I don't believe I can put players in my lineup in this game unless they start with the team in real life, so I might have to put Vatrano in my lineup. If I had my way, he'd be my 13th forward. I might have to use him, so I'm not just throwing him away. All he can do is score, but he's damn good at it. If he can find ways to create his own shots, he could be a fringe top-6 player. And while I agree Spooner will likely see a lot of benching, I don't think the Bruins gave him $2.825M to sit there, especially since Beleskey is already doing that all year with a $3.9M cap hit. Beleskey is actually useless, while Spooner is at least very good on the PP; another thing to remember is that while Spooner's 5v5 play is bad, he also had to carry one/or both of Hayes and Beleskey for the past two seasons.
I don't think Beleskey can even win a job out of camp unless he scores in the rest of the games. Vatrano, Kuraly, and maybe even Schaller are ahead of him on the depth chart imo. Kuraly and Beleskey are basically the same player, but Kuraly really shined in the playoffs. He brought tons of speed and energy and really showed himself he could be a great 4th liner.
Anyways, Vatrano, while in my opinion should be the 13th forward, could really develop into a solid player that has a decent career. I just like the other players more than him, and I'm not in a rush to move him unless the return is worth it.</div></div>
I highly disagree with your Beleskey / Kurally comparison. Kurally's done nothing sustained and Beleskey has a 20 goal season in 60ish games and a 35 point season for the Bruins in 2015. Kurally is totally on the outside looking in, like far, far outside and isn't fit as a 3rd liner. He had the games of his career in the playoffs, don't expect more of that. Schaller is more of a 4th liner or fringe 3rd guy like Czarnik, while Beleskey is a good 3rd liner who finishes every check and creates energy. He'll get a look this year at some point unless he gets waived. Beleskey should get a lot of time in preseason and have a longer look than anyone, but Vatrano will have a ton of games as well. Tonight they played together and didn't accomplish anything, they were pretty poor and we got spanked by Detroit who are trying to just have a competitive season.
I do agree with your opinion of Vatrano as he's really only good at shooting the puck, but I'm confused as to why you wouldn't trade him for a 3rd rounder + 3rd round drafted prospect. If you really know what he is, which is a one dimensional player, why not get some future assets and just plug in Heinen, Cehlarik and Czarnik into that spot of the 13th F? IF you need to keep Vatrano or want more coming back for him I understand that completely. I just think Spooner is so bad at wing that he's not a logical option there so that makes Vatrano the 3rd LW by default unless somehow Beleskey has like 2 hat tricks in the few preseason games left. We saw Spooner lose enough board battles and not get the puck out of the defensive zone last year to end that LW experiment. I see Spooner getting traded halfway through the year if Boston needs a defenseman.
Anyways I see Vatrano is out of my price range for my bargain shopping and I don't mind that, but I would like to know how you value Cehlarik, Heinen, Czarnik, Grzelcyk, Zboril, Lauzon and other fringe players. I don't need to know what round pick you want for each, but just maybe the 2 or 3 you value the least I might be interested in acquiring just to have a Bruins player.
