<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Yotes269</b></div><div>No, hayton is our 1C this year, and played on the top line at a 65 point pace, with 43 overall, he finally broke out. We’re also not selling, it’s why Cooley is signing today</div></div>
With Cooley and Geekie being 1C and 2C in the future, ARI could move Hayton for an upgrade either on defense or in goal, no?
IMO I’m guessing they’re more likely to move Schmaltz for an upgrade as he’s a little ahead of their timeline. But if it was a good enough package could they possibly move Hayton?

Hear me out
It’s already been said and heard thousands of times. Currently WIN doesn’t need a goalie, if they trade Helly in season then Ullmark could be a stop gap option, but they’re more likely to want Sway and no way is BOS moving a 24yo #1 goalie for a 30yo center that’s going to command to much $$$ for a shorter term deal or a long term deal that’s going to age very badly.
They will want more of a return then Lauko with Ullmark as well

CGY and SJS both say no, and it’s not close
Edit: fitment doesn’t make sense for either team, CGY doesn’t need a goalie or bottom 6 forward and SJS doesn’t need UFA LD, especially at that price, if they could get him cheap then possibly would take him just to flip at the deadline for a greater return

Not sure who Benning is, but not at that price for a rental, BOS will likely see how Loheri does on a call up before making any LD decisions. And if Bergeron doesn’t return they will have a lot more pressing needs to address before LD

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>Nelson is one year older than Pageau. I wouldn’t label him as too old at all and he certainly is closer to value for DeBrusk than Pageau is.
My perspective is DeBrusk should be targeted for extension with the money you were thinking about with Bertuzzi. He emerged into a very good young two player and would seem to be a long term solution</div></div>
Sorry Nelson isn’t to old currently, he would be better then Pageau, it just longevity wise Nelson doesn’t fit as well. I personally would rather spend more to get a little younger center to align with Pasta’s career
And I agree, I would just rather keep JD for long term LW soloution, would like to see how him and Pasta do playing together for an extended amount of time

Swedish News Backs a Decision
BOS isn’t going to have much interest in Noah anymore, they would definitely take it him but he would be a “luxury” not a necessity. I would love to have him and just put Loheri at 3LD next year instead of in the top 4 but not sure BOS can afford to overpay for atleast a 1C and have that luxury.
Now Lindholm would be a necessity, personally not a huge fan of his age with the next contract coming but maybe if he’s willing to take little more $ on like a 6 year deal that would be more palatable. But either way BOS would have a lot of interest in him(along with like half the league)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tniz15</b></div><div>Pageau is immediately the best center on your roster. Only reason his point totals are lower is bc he starts over 60% of his shifts in the d zone and the Isles pp was bottom 3 in the league
Dobson is worth Debrusk 3 or 4 times over.
Nelson is worth way more than Debrusk as well</div></div>
LOL now I hope you’re being sarcastic too. Coyle is better overall then Pageau, only thing Pageau would win out on is FO%. Every other metric Coyle was better last year. Coyle brings all the same intangibles as Pageau as well, and over 70% of his starts were in the d-zone so there goes that argument.
And atleast every bruins fan will admit Coyle is a 3C with ability to cover 2C in case of injury on a true contending team. Pageau ain’t no different, and those players don’t return a top 6 winger, even a mid tier like JD.
Pageau-Walstrom- 1st round is minimum where it starts, then we can add pieces to make it fair from there. Even then BOS needs LW’s more than RW’s honestly IMO. With Pasta and Lysell Likely locking down the 1-2RW spots and with Marchy likely retiring in 2 season, and only Merkulov as a potential LW(unless they swap Harrison from C to LW which is possible) that leave JD a top 6 winger in BOS for the foreseeable future.
Now again all this gets thrown out the window if JD doesn’t want to extend in BOS, then I can see the best offer taking JD and BOS readjusting next offseason.
AGAIN this post was just being sarcastic, cause BOS doesn’t want to move JD about the same as NYI don’t want to move Dobson. I.e. if you want them it’s going to take an overpayment

Crazy idea... how about you get a centerman!?</div></div>
LoL it’s a sarcastic post to all these Pageau offers that will never happen.
Yes BOS needs a 1/2 center, but Horvat nor Barzal are going to be on the move. Nelson is too old and Pageau is not even a 2C on a real contending team.
So only thing Isles have of interest for BOS is Dobson or futures, which would then be turned into trade cap for a true 1/2C.( not Dobson, I would keep him and trade Carlo if this actually happened😂)

A Boston Trade amp Cap Dump
BOS has no interest in JGP, he’s a down grade from Zacha and Coyle. Along with JD being the cheaper, younger and more offensive player. Also JD did a good job on the PK last year so the only thing Pageau brings is faceoffs, which he is good at don’t get me wrong, but that’s hardly worth top 6 winger.
JD is only getting traded if we cant get an extension done, and even then BOS will likely get better offers than Pageau, or atleast futures that they can turn into a better center.

VGK Question
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JackAce91</b></div><div>If any defenseman gets moved, it's most likely Martinez in my opinion. When he's healthy and on his game, he's very valuable. He just has an injury bug he can't seem to get rid of. McNabb is a very valuable defensive player who can stick around for a while assuming he's willing to keep the same cap hit or less.
The definite untouchables on this team heading into this coming year are Eichel, Marchessault, Stone, Theodore, Karlsson, and Barbashev.
The probably untouchables are Pietrangelo (expensive and on the decline, but has a NMC), Stephenson (depending on what he wants on his next deal), Roy, Whitecloud.
The probably keeps but I could see being on the block depending on how the year goes are Hague, Martinez, Hill, Carrier.
The only player I expect to be moved depending on if he takes the next step or not is Cotter. I like him as a person and player, but he could be more valuable as a chip than a player if he doesn't solidify his spot in the lineup.
At this point, I'm not sure if any prospect is really untouchable. There are some I'd definitely like to keep--Korczak, Lindbom, Brisson--but if it comes down to moving them for a piece that'll help the repeat, I'd say go for it.</div></div>
Thanks for input

Take 500k from Frent Trederic and give it Swagman, hopefully they both sign that low anyways.
Put Merk back in AHL, would like to see him get few chances but sadly he’s not “needed” on a fully healthy roster.
Up Bergy to 1.5ish mil and cut the bonus down to 1.5ish, just for little extra room next year cause they already got Reilly’s 1.3mil and Looch 500k to pay
And UNPOPULAR opinion here, but like to see Boqvist have a shot on 2LW with Pasta, I know it’s probably JVR’s spot to loose first though

Yup I’m good with it being Forbort and Grez and bringing in another cheaper stay at home dman for third pair. I think B’s think higher of Grez over Reilly though (not that I do) so I can see them moving Reilly and Forbort but either way we get the idea. Need to make extra cap space is bottom line

I agree, move forbort but Reilly or Grez need to be moved first. Forbort has size and PK ability that Reilly does not. Along with the abundance of puck moving d men and forbort being the only “stay at home “ dman on the left makes him more valuable then Reilly. But like I said I’d still move out atleast 2 as we can find bottom pair Dmen cheaper elsewhere
College players that have no NHl experience and weren’t even drafted are signing for 900k, Steen and Stud get little more

Ya I didn’t realize Reilly actually has some decent experience playing on the right side. So I was thinking it was Cliffy then not much after that but if it’s Reilly with cliffy and Ahcan as 7-8 then not horrible by any means. Could still see a cheap extra coming in if there’s one available by end of the day. Maybe like a Hagg like FLA just got, something mid-late round RHD
