<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AntiAnalytics</b></div><div>Idk about that- Hronek would be an upgrade for our top4
Can’t say we’d be interested in Hronek for sure, bc we are all assuming we’d be looking for more of a shutdown type guy,
but he does make us better on defense
And the $4.4mil Cap for this year isn’t expensive for what he provides
The problem would be when we have to pay him after next year- which could be another reason we’d pass on a deal like this
But again, he’d be an improvement over Jokiharju (who i don’t dislike)
And although Greenway played well for us last year,
Granato is gone now & he’s in the last year of his deal,
so i don’t think he’s untouchable anymore
And another thing about bringing in Hronek
If Byram takes a step back, or if Hronek just ends up being a better fit, then we could choose to pay Hronek & move on from Byram
Of course it would be ideal if they both worked out & we signed them both, but bringing him in does cover us a bit, and it just gives us more options moving forward
Idk that a trade like this is likely,
but i do think it’s possible</div></div>
You of all people think its likely? Why would they over pay for a 6 ft offensive dman that wouldnt have top pair minutes or PP time. Especially when they can get Jokiharju cheaper and he is just as effective in the Dzone. Hronek has also been invisible thus far in the playoffs

The Sabres would trade Jokiharju only if they cant afford him, trading him for a dman that will cost more doesnt make much sense. They also traded for Byram and are pretty full up at d. Also also they said they want more physicality in their bottom 6 so trading Greenway is another step backwards. Trade doesnt make sense at all for Buffalo

So where is your evidence that trading for a top5 pick wont cost something like Jack Quinn?
<em>Very hard to rationale about things that affect things that you love. We as humans tend to be decently good at analyzing the reality of problems of which we dont have a personal stake BUT once you get closer people can get increasily biased as their thoughts and words become excuses for your own self interests.</em>
I am Canucks fan, you, BOTH, a Sabres fan. This is black/white.
Then once you to take it that and breathe, we can have a discussion. As soon as you said MTL wins the lottery for Celebrini maybe trade for a piece like Jack Quinn, you lost the entire narrative in one feel swoop. Trading for a top5 pick is always expensive and almost impossible.</div></div>
Quinn was 5th in 5v5 pp60 for players with a minimum of 20 games played. Hes a top 6 forward, now, those players dont get traded to move up a couple spots, for a prospect the team doesnt need. This isnt a tribalism thing. Your idea is nonsensical. The Sabres dont need a unknown RD commodity that bad, they have 2 solid RD prospects developing and their d was vastly improved last season. What they really missed was scoring, specifically scoring from a hurt Jack Quinn. To put this in Vancouver terms so you can understand without your bias arguement, this is trading EP at the 2019 draft to move up from 10 to take Bowen Byram

Lindys Dream
Levi is in the NHL next year. There's nothing he can get out of the A. Delete his October and November, he was already one of the better backups in the league. He'll get like 30+ games next year. 0% chance UPL signs that and you burn all of his good faith offering him that. He has Arb too. Why would you play Benson, a winger, at center over Kulich, a center lol

You'd think they have an excuse because it was another year and another team but nope! The trade happened right under their noses YET they still look down at their shoes while completely oblivious to the world. Sad fans.
They still dont understand that you need to give up a piece to get piece. There should be no thing as a guarantee win trade.
Yes , it's a risk to trade for an unknown but they absolutely need defence on a historically bad defensively club. Like how dumb can they be?
I remember Buffalo fans wanted a high 1st plus a roster player plus a prospect for Mitts.
I think I underestimated their lack of hockey IQ.</div></div>
This has nothing to do with giving up a piece to get a piece, they dont need to trade up. Period. This teams defense wasnt even bad, it was middle of the pack on the season. You know what really hurt them? Missing Jack Quinn for 75% of the season...

Buffalo would decline at Quinn. Theyd decline at probably 80% of the prospects you'd want. The Sabres have no need to do this. They have a full top 4 and a solid RD prospect developing. They can take a RD at 11 if they want and take their time developing that guy. The idea is nonsensical for Buffalo

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hammerwise</b></div><div>I dont know, it seems like one step forward/one step back.
Tanner would be a great pickup, plays physical and defends team (greenway doesn;t do both). And Kulich playing on that line with two physical guys wont be able to get offense from them.
However, old expensive Kane and agitator but defensively woeful Domi seems counter productive, especially as acquiring Kane comes at the expense of getting an upgrade on 2 RD better than Clifton. You've added a bit of snarl but could definitely use it on the backend too. Domi isnt a bad shout as a pesky offensive 3C, but he definitely needs two wingers to play defense on that line. Just forget Kane move Quinn and Jeannot up a line, and use that Kane money to get a good stay at home/physical 2RD or 3RD, trade Jokiharju for a nice 2nd.</div></div>
Id rather dump Domi than Kane. Kane helps their power play and is still elite with cup rings that bring experience. Kane is a guy they need

LMAO I'm a Canucks fan, calling someone a troll because you cant think critically isn't my fault. Look inwards.</div></div>
Sabres have the deepest prospect pool in the league, they also just traded for Bowen Byram. We aren't the ones that lack critical thinking. The Sabres have no need to move up, and arent trading a young NHL forward that was on pace for 60 points in his 2nd year to facilitate a needless trade. Its not like theyre pick 30 either, they can probably take Jiricek with their own pick if they are inclinded
