Perfect trade deadline scenario
Yeah those are great for us but terrible for the other teams. One of the first basically counters Neal to even it up, so ur basically trading laggy and a 1st for foresberg which isn’t even close.
I don’t see us getting foresberg with the cap hit he has and how much space we have a guy like Neal would have to go but the assets we would have to give up to get rid of Neal plus match foresbergs value is just way to much for us to give up.
We are better off going after a guy like Rakell not having a great year but has proven to be a top 6 guy in the past and playing with mcdavid could boost his confidence back up. Plus his trade value will be down as he’s fallen off a bit the past couple years, he would be a much easier target to go after.

Rakell

I think that the best we can hope for from your team is Lavoie and your 2022 second, but other teams may be able to offer a 2021 second and a similar RW or RD prospect. I can't see you guys giving us Bear even up, not to mention Holloway (ha, ha). And don't even bother suggesting a LD prospect. Broberg (like Bear and Bouchard) is too much, and we have better LD prospects than all of the rest of yours.</div></div>
That’s why I didn’t say Bouchard lol cus I knew he was to much value but I personally don’t think bear is having a great year but he does have a good amount of potential I suppose. I would do that lavoie and a 2nd for sure. Rakell getting a chance in Edmonton’s top 6 could turn his season around I think

A career AHLer older than Rakell, an LD who would be fifth on our prospect depth chart there, and your fourth-best goalie prospect! What a steal! Who needs to address our weaknesses at RW and RD with potential all-stars like that!
Easily the worst trade proposed for Rakell EVER.</div></div>
As an oilers fan I would be embarrassed to offer this trade cus that’s brutal. What would you guys be looking for tho prolly would have to start with lavoie or bear huh either of those guys and a pick maybe?

I think you would have to move samo to the ekholm trade for Jones and just scrap the anaheim trade completely. Because based on the cap situation we are not in a good spot one of the trades would have to be scrapped as we don’t even have enough room without kass let alone when kass is back

So we’re just gonna throw Mike smith (the goalie who is 4-0 right now) on the taxi squad? Hard pass. I like ekholm pickup though, just drop the 2nd and foresberg and change samorukov for benson and I like it. Or if we are gonna take Rinne we send mikko instead of foresberg and drop the 2nd

No this is terrible for the oilers as well Zucker is not even close to worth a 1st a 3rd and 1 of the oilers better prospects. Neal is basically just there as a sweetener for the oilers to lose his contract but it’s still not even close to worth it for the oilers

Trade deadline
By giving us raanta without taking mikko or smith back puts the oilers in a bit of a tough situation as they would need to trade smith or koskinen somewhere else
There’s 2 scenarios I would do as an oilers fan which both involve changing wells to koskinen
1- the exact same trade but instead of wells it’s mikko and you add a 3rd and the retention with raanta stays the same
2- wells changes to koskinen and raanta changes to kuemper and you don’t retain any of kuempers salary everything else stays the same

Deadline deals
As an oilers fan I do not want bernier what so ever I would much rather have smith he’s not even that bad dudes dialed in right now
As for getzlaf we’re getting him for to low of a price and if I’m Holland getzlaf isn’t worth a prospect or a top draft pick the trade would be getzlaf for a 1st and anaheim would just take Neal as collateral just to even out each teams cap space
Dermott is better than Russell and somehow we end up with the better pick? Don’t think that’s how that works. I’m perfectly fine with having Russell on the taxi squad he’s not terrible when u only need him for a game or 2. Nobody is going to take Russell off of us without us paying the price so we’re better off just riding out Russell

Blockbuster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>Meh, as a Ducks fan I'm not at all triggered...I just don't really see the point in digging two holes to fill another.
Overall value-wise, sure. But given the cap space that'll be open this summer, I'd just assume take a run a RNH or Hall, which would complement the youngsters coming up better than putting a sieve between the pipes, and having f*cking Kris Russell on the roster :tearsofjoy</div></div>
First of all RNH isn’t going anywhere he’s getting to play with either Mcdavid or Leon all the time and he has a nice powerplay to work with as well. Second there’s no shot hall goes to the ducks there’s rumours that hall actually wants to come back to Edmonton so he can do the same thing as Nuge and play with either Mcdavid or Draisaitl but the oilers just couldn’t take him this year cus of cap space but the oilers have cap space next year. And if he doesn’t go to the oilers he would go to a winning team because he’s tired of playing on losing teams the reason he ended up in Buffalo is because all the good teams have maxed out cap spaces.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mk458</b></div><div>I know Rakell's value is low right now, but there's a strong chance he bounces back (he's still getting lots of grade A chances). I don't expect Anaheim will trade him when his value is this low, they'll wait it out. But I agree that Bouch deserves more games. But right now I think our best bet is to occasionally play 7 dmen, and just not rush any of our dmen back from injury.</div></div>
That’s fair for sure I said not necessarily rakell I just saw he was having a bit of a down year and playing on Anaheim’s 3rd line and just added him to that trade but I could definitely see rakell bouncing back

One more UFA your thoughts
I don’t think giving up 2 1st rounders is the move the oilers aren’t at the point where it’s cup or bust if anything the cap your clearing should be looking for a goaltending improvement kahun filled the spot they were missing on LW Kassian is a suitable fit on RW for mcdavid especially if mcdavid has nuge now he just needs 1 scoring winger we don’t need a super line and if pulijarvi proves he can be a top 6 forward then we’re talking danger for other teams defence Hoffman isn’t the move anymore
