Better than a 1st Line RW on a cheap contract who's 4 years younger and arguably the best net front presence in the league PLUS a Hobey Baker finalist prospect who immediately started scoring when he got to the AHL post-college (8 points in 10 games) PLUS two second rounders?
For a guy in Kovy who is a huge risk to even be close to his former self anyway. You're out to lunch my friend.

this is really good actually. love Elliot as a backup. some of these players probably get more as UFA's than what you have them listed as but hey. we are in fantasy land here so might as well indulge in a little wishful thinking.

typically top 3 picks play in their first season post-draft. regardless, this was meant just in general to show NJ could be good going forward so you could think about this as their roster 2 years out instead

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Opie</b></div><div>Why would Edm trade Eberle for Kovy?</div></div>
a lot of EDM fans are very unhappy with him. 2 points in the playoffs right now. I like him more than most, he's reliable for at least 60 points or so but a lot of people think he's soft. And Kovy on McDavid's wing, with McDavid's speed and set-up ability and Kovy's shot...

That's a good point but I don't know that it's true. My understanding is that MAF waiving his NTC and then being traded would then void it. He would no longer have a NTC that forces him to be protected.

Paul Stastny for Backes and Tyler Johnson for Kesler. Plus Schneider should start over quick. Probably do Leddy or Yandle over Erik Johnson too. This is still better than the garbage they actually ended up rolling out, but yeah

Good stuff. Realistic and actually has modifications that make the roster better. Guentzel/Sheary/Simon/Wilson interchangeable at 2LW for now with the lack of sample size to figure out who works best there. Marchand maybe gets more towards 7M though

Doubt the Sabres want to part with 2 RHD at once, especially someone like Psysyk who likely features into their long term plans. Franson is a smart target though, he's a guy who produces and is underrated at defense through shot suppression.

gotta look at contract situations my man. Picks are to compensate for Buffs UFA status. Reinhart is a top 5 overall pick that is cost controlled for a long time. You don't get that without some balancing out of contracts

IMO Winnipeg wouldn't go for it due to Letang's contract/health and possible declining play in future years. Is there another team that might bite though?
The Leaf trade, if the Leafs thought there was at least one of the players coming back that could be a good NHLer they might go for it. Somehow I think the Leafs believe there is better value for these two players in separate deals.</i></div></div>
Letang having injuries doesn't make him a salary dump. Lmao. And WPG doesn't get a cost-controlled #1 RHD, Norris candidate, puck-moving, point producer for an UFA to be. Injury history or not. To think that they would turn that down is ludicrous.

I'll go ahead and assume you didn't read the description on the pts 1/2 then because you don't know what you are commenting on clearly. Don't necessarily blame you for not searching for the context, no point in goin to that kind of trouble for something as dumb as the imaginary teams on this borderline obscure hockey website. However, with that in mind, it's weird that you tried to be smug about something you didn't know anything about and didn't bother to look into further.

No idea if that guy knows who Hemsky and JStaal are based on that kind of comment. Yeesh.
Anyway, If the Stars managed to pull this off they might not lose another game lol. Eakins is a very good 3rd line center but Staal is elite defensively and his offense is going through a lull but is very good as well.

No shit. If you saw the description for the one in part 1 (the one I did before this one but it had Big Buff in it instead of Niskanen) you would understand that this was a hypothetical scenario that saw the Pens not doing the Neal-Hornqvist trade and drafting Forsberg instead of Pouliot.

My analysis was that Armchair GMs were trying to offload like Scuderi, (who has little playing value) to teams that have salary cap. Thanks for proving my point. You said it "infinite sense from a PIT perspective". Try thinking of the other teams perspective when making trades.
You don't understand any of my analysis? Great. And you missed the point of that sentence anyway, but whatever this is already dumb. Anyway, keep playing make-believe Armchair GM Trade Expert and taking fantasy team trades embarrassingly seriously though, my man. I would just suggest that you try a little harder on the actually knowing what you're talking about part, but then again I'm not the expert with 900 posts of veteran experience in being a pedantic commenter on a site for making imaginary sports teams.
