Oshie is potentially done in the NHL given a lot of the health issues he's spoken about going through, so he probably doesn't end up in a deal like this. He also has a M-NTC and I don't believe Washington will trade him as a service to him and his family since they don't wish to leave Washington. Taking him out though, this is certainly an interesting deal, but I think the Caps would end up being outbid as they won't be willing to part with Leonard, Cristall, or Miroshnichenko and Winnipeg could probably receiver better offers from elsewhere.

Fire Bowner
Believe it’s a mutual option, so possibly walk him into retirement, I think he’s done some good things for the jets, but possibly time to pass the baton on to Arniel, Bowness wouldn’t be a bad consultant/president type gig going forward. Moved the line on defensive responsibility, and a respectable showing up until Colorado. But with some moves and possibly a similar voice with a little different stamp on the squad, could make for a better playoff run.

Ouch. Basically all players that couldn't get an offer from anyone else.
At least I'm finished work now, so I can have a beer and make all this go away! :)

Fans don't care about the balance sheet and ignore the business realities of an organization. This site especially is bad at that. No ownership group in the league is remotely considering "rebuilding" after finishing 4th in the regular season standings. It's pure delusion.

Ya the less than 4 million per crowd, jets prefer the waivers, lunch pail under the radar types more, possibly not prefer but shop frequently.

Please save lambert from Lowry lol, no objections here, but a bunch of those ufas are rather sought after so possibly going to have to settle for discount versions, the knock offs so to speak

As long as they don’t need the extension in place, I’m sure ehlers probably takes a flyer to rejoin laine for a year anyway, see where it gets too. New gm so probably wants to make some of his own mark on the team also, previous draft picks and ufa signatures are a little more tradable when the regime changes.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nix</b></div><div>I don’t think “behind morrissey” should matter when it’s been proven you need multiple good puck moving dmen on different pairs to have success in the playoffs. Although I wouldn’t move Ehlers yet</div></div>
In this case it does though because Chychrun only has one year left and then will be looking for a hefty raise.
Chychrun is basically a poor man's version of Morrissey and you can't have an inferior player being paid more than your 1D on the 2nd pair. It just throws off the balance of trying to build a solid defense.
Kind of like Schmidt and Pionk being paid more than the value they bring.

Connor along with ehlers I’m guessing, part of me wishes we would be uncertain on helly and scheifele also. Perfetti/lambert could be interesting yet. Get so invested in this could be the year and then the same old results, build it so up and then be let down again.

All good, none of this trade idea will come to the light of day, jets headed to mediocre days and then long rebuild, just my own wishful thinking of a quick bottom out tear it down, and rebuild it fast and better. Our blueline is too small or our big guys aren’t mobile enough or have zero hands. Our forwards are something similar, and it all leads to decent regular seasons and early playoff exits. Not complaining, but just tough, when you’re not sure your team has the potential to ever win the last possible game of the year.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mr_Canoehead</b></div><div>Bowness doesn't seem to trust Perfetti and his 19G and 19A. Once Perfetti went on his 10-week cold streak starting in early- to mid-January my guess is that Bowness felt that Perfetti could no longer outscore his defensive issues. I don't know if Perfetti wants out, but he doesn't have much leverage.</div></div>
So does that return seem fair for Perfetti? Any roster players on the caps that may be of interest?
