One year the Eagles were off to an 0 and 4 or something start and the fans threw whole water melons at the team bus. Even nhl players have commented how uncomfortable they've been playing their first games in Philly. Fans are crazy and there is something in the air lol.
One thing I hate about cap friendly is how uneducated some of the fans are. It's like they read a news paper or listen to Eklund and figure they know more than every one else. Must be a Flames fan.</i></div></div> Me a Flames fan? Oh no...I bleed the blue & green. Ya, I'm trying to be more careful not to post every idea I get...because I like to push the boundaries on trades...but then worry I come off uneducated, so I'm trying to keep them more simple now. I wish Canuck fans had more Philly passion - not to the extreme they do. But I want Rogers Arena to feel like an intimidating place to play...Canucks game are too much about the children. It only gets real crazy come playoffs.</i></div></div>
I wasn't suggesting you. Sorry lol. I empathize with canucks fans. Because of management and do cheer for them sometimes. Sucks Benning and the owners won't do the right thing and rebuild. You guys have some nice pieces coming along. Love tramkin, boeser, joulevi wish they had the right mentor for virtanen. I think he needs a experienced power forward to help bring him along.
Go on YouTube and see what happened on ED Snyder night. Philly fans are Unbelievable. Im sure the flyers reporter is missing after calling the flyers fans classless lol.
I miss play offs lol. I got to witness 5 cups in my life time. I'm really fortunate. No team stays in the basement for ever. I think the hockey gods ar balancing things out because of the historic teams we've had. I can deal with extended bad for extended good. I can feel it coming. Draisaitl and mcd remind me so much of gretzky and messier. McDavid with his awareness, ability to make something from nothing and the way he uses the puck to push plays forward. Hes even starting to skate back into the neutral zone. Wish he could use the back of the net the same way. Different Era though back of the net play is harder. Draisaitl doesn't do the real dirty stuff like Mess did . To bad that Era is gone. Guys like kadri , Cooke etc. Would be leaving g the ice on a stretcher nightly

Very up and down career. Life of a career back up. Maybe this is the year he becomes a starter. Some goalies don't get good until their 30s. Ie Tim Thomas. Far and few between though.

Eberle gets hate because he gives up on plays going the other way that's my biggest rag on him. I hate lazy hockey players I also think he's incredibly selfish with trying to make pretty plays. My opinion. If I were to trade nuge it would be for a dman or multiple pieces including wing depth, an appropriately priced shutdown Centre with 1st rnd pick or A prospect. I think 1 for 1 quality top 4 D or a couple or 3pieces of above listed.
Oilers still have many organizational needs to fill with right shots. RW C and D
If I traded Eberle it would be for a guy like Craig Smith. I've had full out wars with people over this. I will look into stats watch videos old games when I get curious. It's a real hobby for me. Sometimes I get value and need wrong but I try and think of what hard decisions are and attempt to make them. Then deal with the fall out from people that don't put the same effort in. It's kind of a game then insult people. Can't make every one happy from what I learned.

I understand this how ever Pak was playing over his head because of injuries and the Eakins systems. Trust me there's a much better version of teemu hartikanen there. I think he can unseat some one. He's a decent call up to and if oils develop that guy they will receive some value for him. He's worth hanging on to in my opinion. All of the guys mentioned above does will be moved in and out of the line up. TMAc likes to do this with the Oilers roster.

I'd like to see him in some games with one of the 3 centers and their play making ability. Iiro has a 100 plus MPH clapper that can hit the net believe it or not. I understand this, I would rather overpay at center than wing. Get rid of fayne, pouliot hendricks contracts draft well and sign good college free agents. We'll be in good shape. The only down side of having a generational talent and high picks is paying them lol.
The cap will go up and we have lots coming off the books in the next 2 seasons.

Smith for Eberle doesn't really do much except save a bit a cap but downgrades the talent. Smith is a decent top 6 but his defensive game isn't that stout that it makes up for the downgrade in talent.
I'm all for EDM trading him but not for Smith.
Also in regards to McLucic, if your going to look at only the "what have you done for me lately" type thinking you're going to be undersold on Eberle. How many times has Ebs got you a point instead of lost it? Probably more wins as a result. Considering they've lost a lot in recent years you'd think it would be more losing but the losses were less his fault and more the overall play of the team. Trade him all you want but plenty of teams in the NHL are clamoring for a top 6 player like Eberle. I think EDM might just need to slot him better.
Ultimately Smith is lateral move at best. Smith++ ??, then maybe a deal can work.</i></div></div>
Unfortunately two way play has been bad for his career how ever this year it's been far worse. The last time he was able to out produce his mistakes he had put up almost 80 points. He's not doing that again in this nhl.
I guarantee if you replace ebs with a 20 plus goal scorer with a better two way game the Oilers will win more.</i></div></div>
Hey if you want to sell him short then by all means but i think you're understating his offensive game and over selling his defensive game. MTL will gladly take him off your hands! :cheers</i></div></div>
Who would you part with of your roster not named plekanec or dd who has put up 20 plus over the last 4 seasons or so and is Eberle's age? Not a snotty question. Just curious. I wouldn't mind palhal weighing in either as the two of you are the only ones with common sense.
To my knowledge Eberle has been on the block for quite some time with either no offers or a very poor return. That says a lot.</i></div></div> Common sense, eh?</i></div></div>
Common sense says in any sport you continually blow coverage the more games you lose. Eberle's game losing mistakes greatly out way the number of game winning goals. number of plays that die on his stick because he wants to be pretty and the number of passes and toe drags that have been picked just to find momentum being killed off or the puck in the back of the Oiler's net. Eberle is a loser with good offence.
Sorry it's the sad truth and the 6 million dollar cap is now dead weight that no gm in the league will touch for fair value.
Grab a team need and walk away from his contract. The Oilers will never even make the playoffs with him in the line up. To my account he's cost us points by being on the ice.
Many memorable goals yes but way more back breaking give aways and blown assignments.
How much oilers do either of you watch? I haven't missed a single game in 30 years. I've literally every game Eberle has played in the NHL he hasn't improved defensively in 5 and a half nhl seasons. He's incapable of learning defense and playing in tight checking games. Defensive minded teams have learned to target his floating.

No one really. Only players of interest for Edmonton from MTL that we would part with would be Beaulieu, Pateryn, all of our prospects not named Sergachev, any of our draft picks, etc. Unfortunately MTL doesn't have the cap space so we'd have to include DD just as a cap dump because of Eberle's 6M cap hit. Then again any playoff calibre team wouldn't have the cap space either so you'd have to take on some salary back in order to make it work probably.</i></div></div>
Predators do.

I guarantee if you replace ebs with a 20 plus goal scorer with a better two way game the Oilers will win more.

Hey look ebs just cost the Oilers at least a point tonight again. 6 million is gonna be hard to get rid of.

Oilers
Lol no on the Boston trade. Hayes is terrible even more so this year. Eberle's defence with no scoring and who does morrow replace in our line up? No one. Plus maroon value is very high to the Oilers.

Better point getter yes. But if you score one goal and give up two you still lose. Eberle is soft on the puck and the oilers overall team game can't support his sloppy d play. He's let up on his assignments and in a lot of cases ended up being momentum breaking plays. Eberle must go. He's had 6 seasons to learn how to play defense with 0 effect.</i></div></div> Look, I'm not saying that Eberle is good at defense because he's obviously not. But Eberle for Smith wouldn't work out like I had previously stated.</i></div></div>
Why would Ribeiro have to leave? Isn't he a center? And doesn't Fischer center smith's line? Fischer would benefit greatly from Eberle's play making.
