What are those lines looooool
I would do the 1st line like this against 1st line heavy teams like BOSTON , EDMONTON if they put Draisaitl on with Mcdavid,
If we do it this way, every line should have its role, so Hyman as shutdown centre? hes played centre and will get help from smart players like Mikheyev.. they can cycle and tire out the other teams 2nd line.
Nylander and Kerfoot have chemistry and Kerfoot was better as 2nd line winger for COL. and can help Nylander on the Left Right faceoffs like he does with MAtthews.
1st line matchup - JT - Matthews - Marner
Taking on lower competition - if Hymans line is on shutdown role - Kerfoot - Nylander - Kapanen
Defensive shutdown line- Engvall - Hyman - Mikheyev -
4th - Clifford - Spezza - Gauthier

TradeSSS with Columbus
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ajp_18</b></div><div>Neither team is making either of these trades.
Columbus- isn’t trading Folingo and we have no really use for Kapanen or Johansson we have plenty of those players already. We also have no use for a LHD who’d play on the 3rd pair. Also you aren’t offering near enough for Columbus to retain on any of the trades.
As for Toronto, they value Kapanen and Johansson better then anything they are acquiring.</div></div>
yah i was wondering if they would let him go, CLB needs TERM and the leafs need character.
but after all these mock drafts, you last comment hits hard

TradeSSS with Columbus
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jmac490</b></div><div>Both of those Columbus trades are awful.
The Dermott trade you're going to get called out for giving Columbus another LHD which they frankly don't need, and Savard is worth Nylander to most Columbus fans, so the valuation is way off considering that perspective.
And why would you trade Kappy for 1 year of Foligno and an inferior player in Anderson? The Leafs don't fit the grit mould of Foligno and Anderson, and Anderson isn't worth Kappy's length and aav either.</div></div>
that's exactly what the leafs need, the "grit" to balance this team.

in this world, we gotta trade a young nylander? to fill that void? or all the rest of the wingers.
This wouldve given us options, but we have JT till he reclines

WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN - PRE CAP HELL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Couturier</b></div><div>Yes, because Dubas's unique cap system started with Tavares. Matthews based his contract off of what Tavares was getting and of course Marner then asked for Matthews money. Without the Tavares signing, Matthews probably goes for what Eichel got, even though he lives up to $11.64M as of today. I don't think Marner would have gone down to $8Mx8years, but his cap hit would be under $10M.</div></div>
It was known that Marner was ready to sign 8x8, but leafs focused on Tavares and Matthews first.
Marner's season with JT brought it up to where it is today.

Josh Anderson wants out CBJ wants term Marner cant shoot at all
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lancelot</b></div><div>Seth Jones is worth more than Marner. Marner is great but he is overpaid ( he is a poorer version of Mark Stone) by at least 2 million. Meanwhile, before injury and encompassing most of the season, Seth Jones has put a body of work that’s nearly Norris trophy conversation and he is the next batch of peaking ultra-elite D man who has it all: amazing at PK, can run the PP great ( ideal 2nd PP QB at worst, only if Hughes or Karlsson of old are running the 1st unit), big, strong, fast, great shot, good passing, calm under pressure, good positioning. He is a franchise cornerstone that’s in top 10 value for franchise cornerstones: he is being paid less than six million when he is playing in the 8-9 million league for defenseman. All this comes with a 25 year old right shot ‘ unicorn’ league guy.
His price will be, at bare minimum, a blue-chip prospect, a top 5-10 draft pick and a roster filler to even entice the blues to trade him. Or in this case, Marner and a first coming back for Jones and an AHL-er/roster filler guy for leafs. Period. Most teams will offer way more than this happily to pry Jones from CBJ.</div></div>
End of the day, no1 wants to sign with CLB, they r getting players thru trade with term.....im just hoping the tdot hype has spread thru the league n we can get a quick swap. does every1 else know that Marner cant shoot?

Well Kerfoot and Barrie are two people

Barrie - Similar to all Dman trade, a 2nd a either a pick or older prospect/ahler
Dumba is similar to the Zucker trade (1st, top prospect and UFA 26 yr old)

Simply put, something is wrong with him; he hasn't looked good for 2 months now. Thats because hes mentally weak, that was the talk in Anaheim. And now that hes got a capable goalie behind hes breaking under pressure just like those playoff games and whenever games means most hes weak..

Johnnson also has chemistry with matthews

its like a rope a dope style, let the leafs think they winning then play hard n win in the last few mins.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PleaseBanMeForMyOwnGood</b></div><div>Could be, either way I am not worried, his line is still producing a lot. He's turning Nylander into a much better players so its all good to my eyes. I could find the statement somewhere on here, but I mentioned earlier in the year that I really liked the idea of Nylander playing with Tavares mainly because Tavares plays close to the net and Nylander needs to do the same. Look what happened once he started doing it. I also don't think he's going to turn backwards, he's only going to get better still.</div></div>
I just thought tavares would bring the same impact and leadership as Bergeron. If you watched the matchup between them earlier this year. Bergeron is stronger, smarter and better leader than tavares is.
plus 5 million difference.... its ok now but down the line 5 more years at 11 its gonna hurt us

Same song when he was with the Islanders. JT was infamous for rarely backchecking. Always late behind the play. And conversely in overtime he would overexert himself trying to be a hero and burn out. Causing odd man rushes and losing games because he wanted to take a 2:30 shift.
You never want a guy of his level just walking out the door. But there is a sliver of me that really wonders how well JT truly would fit in Trotz's system anyways</div></div>
You can see those tendencies now, not using his linemates and trying to do everything on his own and staying on too long like last nights goal against.
He was always known as a goal hog, kadri said it himself.
Leafs bring in a selfish player to be the captain. ofcourse the young guys will be selfish too then.
