You have also easily decided to ignore the 1.833M in the following 3 years starting in 2024. Its not 800k. That is only this season. 2M dead cap each season in the cup window isnt agreeable.
Its a more than reasonable deal when Theathletic mock draft is trading the same 14 overall pick for the 31st pick. 2 2nds and a 3rd plus two useful pieces, You'd be a really bad manager not get rid of that dead cap at that price.

This only saves a 2M and we still have as many wingers but get worse, and we lose our pick that we need since we have a bad prospect pool. The only way I see the Canucks moving 11 is for a young C or RHD, or to dump OEL</div></div>
LMAO Canucks pass. This is obvious robbery by the Canucks. Getting a bunch of prospects for nothing but the better player in Anderson at retention. The Calgary pick can be as high as number 2. You fell for a troll. Pathetic.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jonh514</b></div><div>These deals are bad for the Habs.
Mesar did not have a good D+1 seasons, I'll grant you, but players coming over from Europe typically take a year to adjust to NA ice. Give him another year before you judge him, he did show flashes of the player he could be.
If you would agree that Monty is worth a 2nd, this Pittsburgh deal is essentially 2 x late 1sts and 2 x 2nds for a cap dump and pick 14.
The Vancouver deal is insane. Basically Garland and Anderson are both overpaid but useful wingers. Even though most would disagree, I would say they cancel each other out with No Retention.
So then the Vancouver deal is Farrell, Mailloux, Struble, a 1st, a 2nd, and a 3rd, plus 11M in retained salary over 4 years for pick 11.
No offense, but I hate these deals.</div></div>
I thought the OP was trolling Habs fans. That Canucks package is something else when the Canucks scribes are talking at theathletic about buying out Garland. The Calgary 1st may be a better pick than the Vancouver pick at 11th this year

Carter Hart aint worth whatever Flyers fans think he's worth. Goalies. Average at best goalies dont move the needle against players that are as imaginative as ever with the cross seem passing and 25-35% PPPs
Not giving up Pickering unless its for real help like a Scheifele or Hellebuyck.
And, Jeff Carter only has a year left. Send him to Florida with a 2nd for Knight

No, its not! As explained, its over 4 years with 1.8M AAV through 2027 and not half the league minimum contrary to Yamamoto.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>Canes pass. At best, teose players are of equal skill at different positions. Pesce has the better contract, is more difficult to replace, and plays the more valuable position. If you want Guentzel to Carolina, futures go back. Not core pieces.
And your brainless take of "Carolina needs scoring desperately"... what? Did you just forget Svechnikov was out all postseason? Imagine Malkin was out all postseason and Pittsburgh got to the conference finals back when he was good. Would you call that a failure? Exactly. Stop it</div></div>
"Brainless" lol. Its the literal meaning. They cant score goals. Nothing is brainless unless you can't extract the greater meaning behind the fact. Lets try your language... ... what? Did you forget that Svechnikov played in the playoffs the previous 4 seasons? Imagine Pacioretty out all postseason and Carolina got to the conference finals but getting swept. Would you call that a success? Exactly. Stop it
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jpsnow13</b></div><div>MTL isnt interested in salary retention for Anderson or a small winger. Anderson for PIT 1st or we will gladly keep him.</div></div>
Anderson without 500k retention is a deal breaker for a cap team. I'm sure Hughes will not object too much. Yamamoto can be pushed elsewhere or bought out at 400k each of the next 2 seasons. The Florida 1st isnt a deal breaker. Can be a later pick.

The amount of users here that dismiss what GMs do in the market and claim it isn't correct but what they say is more conducive despite these moves being repeated over and over by GMs when the same user here probably cant even get their own personal debt in order will never not be amusing.

For a salary cap site, most people here are quite oblivious to the hard salary cap. The irony.

Knight, Hill, Gibson, Hellebuyck. Much better options out there that will available in free agency or trade.

Trade Jake for a top4 D and good bottom 6.
Zucker is better than Arvidsson. Trade for Arvy but he goes on the 3rd line.
