I think so too. I've seen a lot of people say Kadri but I think he'll sign for a lot more or stay in Colorado. I ultimately think they'll resign Malkin

Which left-handed forward does Zucker replace?
And remember, we have Arvidsson, Kupari and Vilardi who are right-handed forwards, too.</div></div>
It's not a given that it's LA that the Pens would trade with. I put a team like LA because it would he a western conference team that is close or just barely missed the playoffs for a mid round pick put any team you'd like there it's not like it's a player for player swap

Deadline and offseason moves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brgh4life</b></div><div>Because I don't like Boeser. Kapanen might be struggling but he has more goals and points at even strength than Boeser does. You are paying a big price for a guy that needs power play time to make up the difference in production and he isn't getting top pp time here. So it's not worth trading away a seasoned D to promote Friedman, who doesn't have many games under his belt, just to get a guy who isn't the difference maker he is made out to be.</div></div>
I'll take Boeser on the 2nd PP unit over Kapanen. Boeser has 17, 17 for 34 points. Kapanen has 9 17 for 26 and is non existent on the PP. I've always liked Kapanen too don't get me wrong but hes not working here why not move him out. Friedman has earned a chance and you also have POJ in WBS

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>brgh4life</b></div><div>Because Rust is clearly better. Boeser has been MIA at 5v5 since Pettersson was moved to a new line. He is soft player with a good shot, but he isn't worth that IMO.</div></div>
And kapanen is playing lights out? Why not trade your struggling winger for one with better upside while clearing cap space and the log jam at LD while doing it

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>fil97</b></div><div>rust has been developing every year since coming in the league... imo he is an all around better player then Boeser he plays extremely well with sid geno and even Carter great locker room presence + we shouldn't care about the future it doesn't matter what the team will look like in 3 years once sid and geno retire
I'd honestly take 4 years of being the last team in the league to try and win one more with this two and letang</div></div>
I honestly don't think the drop off will be that significant. And this is a trade deadline move not an off-season one so you'd have boeser and rust for a cup run. I just think no matter what they won't resign rust. I think he'll play himself out of what they can afford

Friedman on the 32 thoughts podcast yesterday said again Vancouver likes both Marino and pettersson. I never said they weren't interested in Marino but the Pens are very unlikely to move him

Why would you pay rust who will be 30 next year? He'll want a long term deal that gets will not be worth in 2 years when he begins to decline. Nashville will not give up Foresberg who is 27 and already making 6 million a year so he'll be probably in the 7.5 mil a year or more range. Boeser is younger and can still develop. Especially if he's on sid or Genos wing

he definatly didnt leave the pens cause he was pressured from ownership to make bad moves. he left because ownership wouldnt allow him to move MAlkin or letang. as i said earlier i bet money JR is calling al the shots with personal moves. and idk what reports youre reading cause all the ones ive seen say pettersson or marino

Deadline and offseason moves
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NV94</b></div><div>Seravelli was speculating on who could be moved. Nobody in the Canucks organization has made any comments about moving Boeser or Miller. They actually said the exact opposite about trading Miller.
Regardless like I said if Boeser was to be moved which is a possibility (I’d say more off-season than deadline) I would be extremely disappointed if Marino or a top 4 RHD isn’t coming back. Again not the GM so you could be right but I would be upset with that return</div></div>
I think they won't net as much in return if it's in the offseason or at the draft because he will be an RFA then whereas at the deadline he'll provide more scoring depth to a team like Pittsburgh who could make a realistic cup run. Especially if a bidding war starts. I think JR would be smart to make a deal at the deadline.

all reports have discussed Marino or Pettersson. Pens will not move Marino, especially with the uncertainty of letangs contract situation. I get it all you Vancouver fans haven't experienced a JR trade. I said that about a lot of his moves he made when he was in Pittsburgh but i gaurentee if a PItt-Van deal is done with Boeser, itll definatly involve Pettersson. I have no problem admitting I'm wrong if I am

why? Friedman has shown he can play, POJ can take over that spot next season. Kapanen isn't providing any value. You would net a 25-year-old forward whos played relatively well on a down year Canucks team and probably sign him for the same or less then someone will sign rust for

Also just because he likes some players doesn’t mean it makes any sense to accept a lowball offer for our player for them.
Then again I’m not the GM but if we trade Boeser and don’t get a top 4 RHD back in return I will be extremely disappointed</div></div>
JR is the President of Hockey Ops who hired his old AGM from Pittsburgh to be GM, I would bet money JR is calling the shots. Frank Seravalli had it in a Feb article about trade targets that JR stressed cap flexibility and why Boeser and/or Miller could be moved. It'll probably take more then my trade but he also traded a 1st round pick and a prospect for Ryan Reaves when he was here and then traded him half a season later

Doubtful, Yeah they want RHS but GMJR has already signaled Boeser as the likely one out. Pettersson can play both sides and is reliable and I already said in the description that the 4th would more likely be a 2nd after some second thoughts. They probably won't qualify him if they hang on to him. Most Pens-Van reports are already saying Pettersson is the more likely one to move, hold up is most likely Hextall and Boeser working out what a contract extension would look like

Rutherford acquired Pettersson a few years back when he was the Pens GM he likes him. He likes Kapanen, he drafted him and required him. He's come out and said Boeser will probably get moved. The Pens like Marino a lot, that's why I said the 2nd rounder would have to be put in instead of the 4th.

Realistic Deadline
I'm fine with bringing in Lehkonen, but giving up Poulin to do it doesn't fit Hextall's plan of keeping the team good plus building for the future. I don't think you need to give up probably your top prospect to make this happen. That's just my opinion, Kapanen and the pick is probably enough unless the Capitals make it a bidding war. Wouldn't make sense to bring in another D unless one is going out. DeSmith has played well enough recently to not need another goalie, especially with Domingue in WBS.
