I'm guessing its 5.9 mill, could be anywhere from 5.5-8 mill lol

They actually have a solid defense. Larsson, oleksiak , Dunn, soucy, and Giordano all have strong defensive impacts. They are going to be a low event team - they can probably beat Vancouver lol

I’m willing to give Lou the benefit of the doubt after fleecing two GMs last week. I’ll be alright with this if Wahlstrom is on Barzal’s line next season and he signs someone like landeskog. Also Beauvillier was slightly better than Eberle last season

Yeah I get that but we just got out of cap hell, at his age he might only have another 2 years of being an NHL caliber D. At that point I’d rather sign someone like McCabe/kulikov for less $ and term

I definitely wouldn’t be disappointed if the isles got Landeskog, he’s a great player. But he’s only a slightly above average finisher, his value is in his 2 way game. If they want a finisher I guess they take the big risk with Tarasenko and pray his shoulder is good or sign palmieri to a short term deal

Yeah he’s very good, I just wouldn’t pay him more than 8 mill. Realistically he’s more like a 7.5 mill player

wtf lol ...edmundson is a 3rd pair D. I'd play hickey over him - you're also giving up our best two way winger and one of the only good forward prospects the isles have.

I'm very confident in Wahlstrom. He looked so good last year. I can see him putting up a 25-25-50 season. Dobson I think can take a step forward, but only if he gets a better partner. I liked Greene a lot but he's too old to play the top-4 minutes Dobson deserved. If Suter becomes his partner, I see him taking a massive leap forward.</div></div>
The problem with Greene-Dobson pairing is that Greene likes to give Dobson suicide passes when he's in trouble which leads to Dobson turning it over in bad spots. Dobson does not need to play with a stay at home guy, he needs to play with a puck mover with decent mobility.

This would be fine - why 4 years for Suter? That takes him to his age 40 season.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ForsbergForVezina</b></div><div>I’m still incredibly dubious about Palmieri. Dude had an awful year in NJ and then came to LI and didn’t get it going until the postseason. There’s a chance he returns to form I guess and he used to be really good, but I just have a hard time seeing him getting back there.
The more I think about it, the more I start to think we should get a cheaper top-6 forward (Saad, Coleman, Tatar) than Landy and then also sign an OFD to replace Leddy (Mike Reilly, like I’ve suggested before) instead of blowing all our cap on one player. Feel like Reilly’s offense could help make up for some of the offense we’ll lose with Ebs and gives us an element we haven’t had with Leddy in a couple seasons</div></div>
I was talking to someone on here who knows a lot about analytics in hockey, and when I said Palmieri wouldn't age well he said that even strength defense (which palmieri is very good at) ages better than any other skill. Palmieri was still a pretty good offensive play driver last season, it was just his finishing that took a hit. He might be due for some positive regression like Anders Lee last season. I'd be good with4- 4.5 mill on a 2-3 year deal.
I would love Coleman, I think he gets 5.5-6 mill. I can't see them being interested in Tatar. Saad probably re-signs with the Avs. My dream is to trade for Conor Garland lol - but yeah honestly that would be a good idea but either way I'd be fine with it. Landeskog would be cool. It would be tough to screw up this offseason now, trading Beau would be the only way to do that, but after losing leddy +eberle, I can;'t see why they'd even consider trading him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ForsbergForVezina</b></div><div>Mixed emotions for sure. Always fun to get a big name UFA and he *should* be an upgrade on Eberle.
However, that contract will almost certainly be too much for too long. I feel like Ebs at 5.5 x 3 is much better value than Landeskog at 8.5 x 7, even though he should be a little better and with a team with as much money locked up as we have, that kind of thing really, really matters.
And what if we don’t get him? We lose our 1st line RW for nothing and then maybe stuck with Bailey to replace him (Trotz will not play Wahlstrom 1st line out of the gate lol) or take a massive risk and give up more assets for Tarasenko. This whole thing is very, very risky imo</div></div>
Yeah I feel the same way. Landeskog will be an upgrade, but how much ? I’m still down to sign him though lol.
Palmieri likely gets re-signed - He is a better finisher than Eberle, but not a better player.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campabee</b></div><div>That is a tough, tough match for me, I wouldn't offersheet Beauvillier at more than 4.25 Mil, he puts up almost the same numbers as Armia but is younger. I think just like Hyman and Danault he is overvalued for what he brings.</div></div>
It’s also highly unlikely Bergevin throws that much at Beauvillier - it’s unrealistic. Isles would still match, despite the facts out there you still choose to ignore them and underrate Beauvillier for whatever reason.
You also underrate danault who will walk which will likely cost the habs a playoff spot next season

I'd be surprised if they didn't make an offer sheet attempt on someone big. Pettersson and Beauvillier have been the only two the Canadiens have been confirmed to have interest in so I went with the more likely of the two.</div></div>
Yes I’m aware bergevin is interested in beauvillier - every team should be. But he’s an RFA and the isles have 23 million in cap space - he’s not going anywhere.
