The Flyers wouldn't even do the original deal, so.......
Short of someone blowing them away they aren't trading TK. He is one of the few mid 20's players that wants to be around for the rebuild and at least for the time being the Flyers appear to be content to keep him.

With Landeskog out for the year, it negates any really need to make a bug trade imo.
There are a number of value players on the market, and I think Sakic is shwerd enough to dive into that.
I see this version of the Avs simply being effective and deeper; although I do think you can do much more effective things with the cap space than what you have done.
Having said that, and having done my own Avs ACGM, yes..... this team isn't taking a year off. Shouldn't have to.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NMAvsFan</b></div><div>Olausson had one call-up, as did Foudy. Neither of them seemed to impress all that much. Given this organization's clear lack of desire to get the young guys multiple chances and eventually make the team full-time, it's far more likely they languish in the AHL. They just don't care enough about developing their role-players. But maybe we'll see a change.</div></div>
I thought Foudy was ok, but you aren’t wrong about the Avs not giving young guys a chance.

Foudy had jump and was effective with the time he was allotted. He needs more chances and could be a good bottom-six player; Olausson, who knows? But Bednar and the FO need to be insistent that they be given chances to make it. Screw draft pedigree and whatever else, they need guys like that to get real opportunity.

Tampa Bay Lightning signed Michael Eyssimont (2 Years / $800,000 AAV)
Excellent deal for both parties. 800k is less than what I thought he would get. If you aren't familiar with his game, a VERY similar comparison is Brandon Hagel, but with better stickhandling. I would not be surprised if he becomes a very solid top 6 forward. He has a high ceiling, especially now that he is playing in Tampa. Congrats ACE!!!

Maybe I am crazy, maybe I'm just a little unwell. I can see a pair of 6.5-7m deals for both Toews n Byram. lol a homer can dream right?

Next year
The Avs are not trading roster players for futures and they certainly shouldn't be trading Girard for one measly 1st rounder that likely won't play for them for years, if ever. If the Avs are shipping someone out, they're going to want a good roster player(s) coming back. And it's Toews they should be trading: they can probably get more back (although this has not been a great season for him) and his deal is expiring. He fits the mold more of a 1D so if they can find a team that needs that, the Avs might be able to get a good return package to fill their own needs.

Woah....let's try a repeat first lol. But yeah no way the Avs sign JTC to that deal or shouldn't be. That's about the worst contract term-wise for Byram from the Avs PoV, and the Girard trade is simply a no.

Terrible return for Girard. No way the Avs touch that, and no way the Avs should touch that contract for JTC either.

If Sharks win Bedard sweepstakes they should find some muscle to be on his line at least for first couple years, similar to Lucic/McDavid. Overall this Sharks roster lacks any grit. Wonder if they asked nicely if WIld would trade Foligno or they could somehow pry Tom Wilson from Washington

Any team with Lindblom on their 3rd or even 4th line is not a playoff team. Fill his spot with Zetterlund or Bordeleau?
Labanc is hopefully gone. No team with him on first line makes playoffs.
Gadjovich in for Agozzino.
Would be dope to see them add Killorn!

I like everything you've done here (although the Schenn contract might be high), especially the Graves signing (which the Kings should make if they can't re-up Gavrikov), and if this isn't a playoff team, at least with a healthy Drysdale and an improved defense, the Ducks won't be the embarrassment that they have been this year (whether or not Bedard or Adam Fantilli or Leo Carlsson makes the NHL right away).
Don't forget about re-signing Axel Andersson, too. And the line combinations would be quite different.

I've said it before, and will say it again until it finally happens...step one is hiring a new coach who puts a focus on a structured defensive game.
After that, I'm fine with the moves (I'd rather Holl than Schenn), but think you're a bit rich on the Zegras contract (Comps are Cozens, Boldy, Suzuki), and Terry. I think adding Graves would be excellent, but I wonder about the potential impact of blocking prospects...
End of the day-No, it's not a playoff team (yet!). I'd imagine we'll see Mintyukov at the start of the season for his 9 games, mayyyybe Luneau as well(?), then Zellweger at some point. Will also be interesting to see where Lacombe heads, given that I'd imagine him agreeing to sign likely hedged on a promise to be on the NHL roster.

Is it a playoff team? No, I don't think it is yet, might have a shot at a wildcard spot with a better HC. Graves is a great get, but as Drysdale's running mate, schenn deal is too rich to be a third line guy, but achenn is a great defenseman, though getting rather up there in years. We really do need a number 1 RHD for Fowler for a bit, I don't think Fowler Drysdale works as a pairing.
Couple of other minor things, Bedard is right shot, so he starts on RW. I'd run the following forward lines.
Henrique-Zegras-Terry
McTavish-Strome-Bedard
Comtois-Lundeatrom-Vatrano
Jones-Gawdin-McGinn
I hate to bench Silf but he just saps the offense from whatever line he's on.

No. You'd need massive seasons from the young guys and it's probably not likely Bedard, Jiricek and Sillinger go bonkers next year (maybe Bedard). Possibly Johnson, Boqvist and Peeke take that leap but I'd say another year at least for this roster.

Girard gets the absolute worst assignments in terms of D partners (call-ups, Jack Johnson, etc) so he's always being dragged down by lesser players; he also plays more than Valimaki but you're right that Valimaki has been having a decent year. Schmaltz would be a good addition if he does play C well; I had just heard he doesn't play much C these days.

Look at those numbers. You don't spend $5 million a year for those numbers. You don't give up a 2nd round pick for those numbers.
You usually have to give up assets to get rid of those numbers.
