JT agrees to wave
JT screwing the Sharks over in FA and then getting traded to them while they're the worst team in the league would be poetic.
Unfortunately he'd never waive and the Leafs would never do it since they get royally shafted in that trade.

Loud and clear. Thought they might prefer to keep the 1st but I'd be happy either way.

That's fair, just looking at things it seems like they might consider moving some dead cap out if they want to push for the playoffs next year. But it is less vital for them.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>Orlov isn’t going anywhere. Kuznetzov likely won’t go anywhere, although if he has to be dumped, at worst it likely costs a 3rd. KK can be bought out for cheap, if a team isn’t willing to pay for him.</div></div>
Didn't realize Kotkaniemi's buyout was that cheap. Although the buyout would last like 2 million years lol. He would be the most expensive to dump of the three. Agree with a 3rd for Kuzy. Orlov isn't a negative asset player but it seems like he would be the odd one out should they choose to bring back Guentzel and Pesce and Skjei.

That's fair, i appreciate the insight. I've seen that trade on here a bunch of times and Tampa seems like they'll have a bit of a cap crunch over the offseason but, yeah 2M is more movable and buriable than other not-so-great contracts.

steady
I know points aren't the end-all be-all factor here but just for the record, the sharks would basically be trading away two fine contracts for two bad contracts costing them $7 million more for over twice the term in total. And the payout for all of that is only an extra 19 points.
Not sure how Carolina doesn't add like at least a 1st here just for Kotkaniemi's cap dump alone...

Beating a dead horse here, value-wise its likely enough.
Content-wise I'm not convinced SJ would trade the pick without a name like Hutson, Reinbacher, Slaf, Suzuki or Caufield included.

So here's the breakdown:
Anderson dump = Harris + Calgary's 2025 1st (if we're being generous). Cool! Done.
So basically the Sharks are trading down from 1st overall to 6th for a 2nd and 3rd rounder NEXT year.
Sorry, but that's gonna be a pass.

Lines for Last 2 Games
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AStovetop</b></div><div>They had Eklund at center for a decent chunk when Hertl and Couture both went back on LTIR after the all-star break, and Bords started the season at center. I think Bords will likely be a winger from now on, he seems much more natural there. i could see Eklund sliding to center in a year or two (especially when/if Musty and Gushchin push for top 6 LW spots, and if Smith ends up being more of a RW) but as of now he just doesn't look ready for it.</div></div>
Yeah that's a good point they've had a couple goes for sure. Eklund has definitely improved since then as well. Bords does seem like a better winger at this point, but it would be cool to see him with some more talented players as well. Definitely better not to force him into a role he's unprepared for but man the center depth would be helpful.

Looks nice! Would like to see them give Bords and/or Eky a look at Center just to see how their skillsets translate.
All I need is to not see Labanc or Hoffman on the ice and I'm content.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>squashmaple</b></div><div>Last season, Columbus looked like an ideal place for a center to land, and they could offer an NHL spot right then while most other orgs couldn't. That's why he chose the Jackets. And then he was hurt this year when spots opened up in Columbus again, so he got stuck in Cleveland. At least the Monsters will probably make the playoffs (except that half their team is in Columbus right now).</div></div>
Gotcha, that makes a lot of sense. Yeah looks like he got a few games in at the end of last season but wasn't super effective. Lol same sitch is true with the Barracuda/Sharks.
