The Plan For Bedard
I sorta like the Hoffman trade just don't see it happening though....getting him would block a prospect from coming up. I think the Wild would pass and keep the small amount of cap money open for other options that would be a 13th FWD and sit in the press box, having a 2.5mil player in the press box would not be ideal.

Filling needs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dutchies</b></div><div>MIN fans, before you go off, this is an excellent trade for you.
You can't afford Dumba after this year. You're getting 2 excellent prospects, on entry level deals and a decent pick. Both players could be ready as early as this year / next year.
OTT needs another higher end minute munching D, and can afford to pay a steeper price like this.</div></div>
I wouldn't say the Wild can't afford Dumba next year, there is some other contracts coming off the books and Dumba will have to take a haircut on his next contract, I am sure BG will see what his extension number will be and if Dumba is not willing to sign in the 3.5 - 4.5 range then I think BG would trade him. But I know Dumba loves Minnesota, BG loves him and he is super great teammate and locker room guy.
I do like this trade the Wild don't really need a whole lot of prospects now I believe we have a top 3 prospect pool in the league but you can always use more. I might swap out Sokolov for Ostapchuk but I really have no idea about the Sens prospects and I have no idea what BG and Judd think of these guys. I would be willing to bet if this is on the table at the TDL and BG can't get Dumba signed for a cheaper extension and there is no better offer on the table he probably takes this deal.

All in for 2023
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SociallyHawkward</b></div><div>Hawks decline. Ignoring Kane and toews nmc's, that's not nearly enough for the hawks to trade them in division.</div></div>
I doubt the Hawks care who they trade them too...they are in full on tank mode and everyone if the hockey world can see it, besides if they didn't trade them to the Wild they could very easily sign in the central next year when they are UFAs. I think the biggest thing would be would the Wild want to give the Hawks two 1st rounders? If it guarantees a cup yes...but we know that is not a guarantee so I doubt the Wild would even do it anyways.

I agree Spurgeon will never waive and BG will never ask him too, not after he gave him the Captaincy and a huge contract. FYI Spurgeon's wife is from Edmonton they were high school sweethearts, I think a couple of his kids were born in Minnesota though.

Is It Enough 4 Fiala
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>emoprettyboy</b></div><div>depends on who you ask, Thomson is a bit more dynamic and has some better puck-moving, but JBD is the kind of defenceman that you never notice, for all the right reasons. Thomson is definitely a bit more exciting, but for the Sens' needs, personally I prefer JBD. There probably won't be room for both of them long term, and if one of them were to be Chabot's long-term partner, I'd want it to be JBD</div></div>
Thomson also has one more year on his ELC so that might swing the Wild more in his favor over JBD too...

Trying to compete
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>futurehofer</b></div><div>If we trade Dumba, it would still require another piece being moved to afford Fiala. That $6.5 million we have does not leave much extra room. Moving Dumba frees up $6 million for 1 year and Fiala turned down a multi-year deal for $6 million last offseason wanting something at least in the $7-8 million range. Realistically, Fiala's gone either way. Moving Dumba allows us to spend more than league minimum on the other pieces we need.
Also, Dumba wasn't very good last year. He ranked 5th best or lower out of our 8 defensemen with 200+ minutes last season (depending on the metric you use). He actively brought down Brodin if you compare Brodin's numbers with Dumba vs with literally anyone else. The only one arguably as bad of a partner was Goligoski. If we could find someone statistically on par with Dumba for even $4 million, I'd gladly take that extra cap room. Every dollar counts for us for the next 3 years of cap hell so an extra $2 million would be amazing</div></div>
I think BG will keep Dumba and hopes he has a better season he wasn't as bad as you make him out to be but he wasn't 2018 Dumba either so if he starts the season off good and the Wild are out of playoff contention then he will be moved at the trade deadline for probably more then you could get in the offseason. Then maybe he resigns as a UFA for less money.

32 teams AGM - MIN
I am not sure the Wild will want Watson they are looking for prospects and seeing as the pick is 7OA it wouldn't need to be a A-level prospect but if BG could get a A-level prospect and 7OA I think that would be icing on the cake. But on the other side I could see the Wild flipping Watson at the trade deadline for more picks or prospects.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Knuckl3s</b></div><div>The value is definitely fair in the Fiala trade, but I think the Canucks only make a deal like this if they're getting a 2022 1st in another trade. They aren't going to go another consecutive draft without picking in the 1st round. If Miller is moved for a package including a 2022 1st, I could see Fiala and Boeser being on the team together maybe even as both of Pettersson's wingmen
I don't think swapping Hoglander for Linus Karlsson is an outrageous idea either, but I think the Canucks would definitely need a second to consider moving Karlsson right after they signed him</div></div>
I didn't think of that if Van moved Miller they could keep Boeser....and I have no idea on Vans prospects values or how they are ranked...I was just spit balling I am sure Judd has some knowledge of your guys prospects so I would be ok with just about anything he recommended.

Im not sure on why you would trade Talbot for less then what you would get Allen for...Talbot had better numbers then Allen and I know you save alittle cap space but doesnt seem like a good Idea. I would rather keep Talbot and trade Kulikov for a 3rd round pick. As far as the Fiala trade I would swap out Nils with Linus Karlsson if Van would accept that....but I think the whole Fiala trade would hinge on what Van does with Boeser.

Mn would decline...maybe if it was the Philly 23' 1st and 22' 3rd and Forester. I could see BG doing that...RHD prospect is intriguing but not sure if the Wild would go for it. TK does nothing for us even if he is cheaper then what Fiala would be.

I would be interested in seeing what LA or Buffalo fans think of these trades seem like NJD fans not a fan of trading Bratt and Sens fans think its too much for him Islander fans think its too much as well how about we swap out Wahlstrom for Raty? Any trade involving Bratt would come with an extension in place.

Greenway got a contract extension in Jan, I doubt BG trades him after he extended him. He is a part of the GREEF line which was one of the most dominate shutdown lines in the NHL so the Wild value him highly even thought alot of Wild fan would like to see him traded.

I find it funny you are 100 bucks less on the offer sheet just so you don't go into the next compensation level....I don't think Fiala would sign that offer sheet, he will want 7.5 to 8 mil per year. So if you were to offer sheet him why not just try and trade for him you could probably get him cheaper. This is what I don't get with alot of people on this site they want to lowball the crap to trade for Fiala but are willing to offer sheet him and end up paying 2 - 1st rounders a 2nd and a third....makes no sense.

Nicely done...I kinda like this I would change some parts but wouldn't be disappointed if this is next years roster. Maybe try and find a different option instead of Holtby and I am not sure if Bjugstad is offered a contract here but maybe BG re-signs him. I could also see Dean rotating Goose, Addison and Merrill throughout the season.

Ok I keep seeing all these trades for Debrincat and Fiala and it boggles my mind that Debrincat commands so much more than Fiala. I will say Debrincat is a very good player probably better then Fiala but I wouldn't think he is so much better that he gets a higher 1st rounder plus a 2nd and two more decent prospects more than Fiala. I dont know....I am sure people will rip the hell out of me for this but whatever...

Leafs Forever
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>-Buffalo has no need to spend a 1st & a 3rd on Muzzin. There's plenty of veteran Ds out there that can give you 80-90% of what Muzzin gives without costing two picks *and* $5.625M of cap. I could see Buffalo thinking about it if you dropped the 1st rounder (3rd for Muzzin?) but I'll let Sabres fans weigh in on that possibility.
-That package seems okay for Fiala but can be beat if another team wants him more. Holl is zero value to Minnesota though, dump him out somewhere else - they already have Dumba, Spurgeon, and Addison ready to play RD. You can probably flip Holl out elsewhere for a 4th.
-I can't see Vancouver doing this kind of move without them already having moved JT Miller out for a ton of picks/prospects. As it stands now, there's not a ton of room in their top 9 when you look at who's already signed/who's still only an RFA this summer.
-Mrazek isn't the type of cap dump Arizona usually takes, his contract is backloaded and actually costs more in salary than his cap hit. I'd look at another, non-cap floor team like Chicago for this deal (but they might bleed you for more in terms of compensation).
-Reimer is probably able to be acquired this summer (unless they move on from Hill or Kahkonen) but as crankshaft said they're tight against the cap this summer and you're going to have to overpay to get some of that retention.
I'd honestly be worried about this team. The 4th line is brutal, that bottom pair is iffy at best, and you're at the cap with only 20 guys - so you're gonna need a lot of guys to either play through injury or spend more time than you'd want on LTIR.</div></div>
This might be the best take on this site! 👍

Im not sure the Wild have been trying to trade him for 2+ seasons....they protected him in the expansion draft. And Billy was just was defending him, I dont think he is moved but if he is moved it probably will be at the trade deadline and would probably get a 2nd and 3rd or two 2nd rounders, hell it could be higher picks or prospects if he stays healthy next year and returns to 17-18 year numbers. look what Chiarot got at the deadline.
