Thats really it. Id love Horvat on the leafs, but his price is absurd for what he brings

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Claesson4Norris</b></div><div>Damn you should tell the Sens front office this, because they don't seem to know. Certainly had no problem handing put money this summer</div></div>
That’s true but some teams especially with star players are doing monster bonuses, players love it because they get huge checks and money now is worth more than money later simply because of inflation, teams that are cash rich like it because they can “buy down” to a certain extent AAV’s by paying more up front. I wonder how it will affect some of the big UFA’s coming on the horizon. Just an observation, but great comment about the Sens paying up for guys particularly this off season with Stutzle, Giroux and DeBrincat.

Pull the trigger
Jake Ottinger. I'm not kidding either. Leafs don't have the cap space to make any of your pieces work. They're in win-now mode, so your picks and prospects don't move the needle. So take Murray, give us Ottinger, and then we talk.
I know, never going to happen, and you would be crazy to consider it because Nick Robertson is clearly not worth a starting goalie, but you have nothing else that would interest the Leafs/that the Leafs would actually be able to use.

Brock Faber became available because he apparently told Blake that he had no intention of signing in Los Angeles and intended to become a UFA after college. He wanted to stay near home due to his special needs sister, hence him being traded to Minnesota.
Now that Brock Faber is gone, it only makes Matt Roy more untouchable because they moved the only other defensive RHD they have in the system.

The Canucks trade favours the Jets pretty heavily. Garland for Pionk is about fair, adding Hoglander and a 4th makes it pretty bad for the Canucks

Habs will expect to trade him for a package similar to the one they got for Chiarot. Honestly we love him, just gave him an 'A'. He's not going anywhere unless doing it will help the team and a 2nd and 3rd without cap retention would not be enough.
No way the Habs use one of their retention slots for 2 years on this deal. We need those to trade Drouin, Dadonov, and Monahan at the TDL.

Utter fleecing lol. Toffoli is a career 50pt player while Nylander hit 80 last year and generally hovers a bit under ppg. Add to that the complete cap dump of Lucic, and apparently the leafs are giving up a top 4 D and another 50pt forward in Kerfoot as well. Does weegar really make up that massive difference? No

Anaheim (1), because RhDs that might develop into All-Stars are harder to come by than #1 RWs, and Montreal (2), because Jordan Harris played all four years at Northeastern and could have waited a few weeks and then signed with any team, but preferred to sign with the team that drafted him (the Canadiens), so I cannot IMAGINE Kent Hughes rewarding that loyalty by trading him.

Shaking like a _______
As a Leaf fan I would love that Mayfield trade. New York needs all the scoring help they can get and Kerfoot would help them a bit in that regard BUT I wouldn't make this trade if I were them. They have a lot of middle of the roster forwards already. They need genuine star power at forward. The benefits of Kerfoot will not outweigh the loss of Mayfield in my mind.
I assume if the Leafs put Holl on waivers someone would claim him. So I doubt you would need to pay Montreal to take him. I could be wrong though.

I can see Holl to Montreal as a possibility for the reasons you stated.
I assume Sandin would get 1.2-1.3m a year on a 1 year deal. Not 874k. But I wouldn't complain!
