I’ll make an ACGM from a Dallas perspective shortly. I’ll credit you for the trade, but I just want to flush out the cap and see what that would leave the Stars with. Solid job overall.

Dallas would have to add IMO, but I actually love the general idea of the trade. Don’t see them adding a 1st or a top prospect, but I something like a 2nd + Albin Eriksson/Oskar Back/Nick Caamano would help flush out the deal for the Rangers. All 3 of those prospects have a middle-6 ceiling

Nice job. I have no complaints on trades. But (a) do you want chytil at 2C? and (b) Buchnevich is underpaid significantly

Lots of trading Smith to Ottawa lately, but there's not much and never has been any logic to it. If it's because of his contract, Ottawa is asking a heck of a lot more than the trash that is a 4th and a 6th. Nobody's taking on a bottom tier player paid like he's worth something for absolutely no beneficial pieces coming back. If it's because there's this idea that Sens need D, it's just not true. The Sens need <em>good</em> D, not overpaid guys that don't beat out the 11 guys they have vying for spots next year (Chabot, Zub, Zaitsev, Jaros, Wolanin, Reilly, Borowiecki, Brannstrom, Alsing, Lajoie and Thomson). So what's Ottawa getting out of this? Nada.

Based on Tofolli Trade - Palmieri
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChytilMania</b></div><div>Palmieri is one of the best shooters in the league. Any team could use a player of his caliber. Bump up your demands.</div></div>
I agree.. BUT to stay relevant and able to compete to wins some games (not do what Detroit is doing this year), I feel that the return for Palms should include an NHL ready player. Someone in the age group that fits with Hughes and Nico. Given the Devils need on D, I targeted Zadorov, who is young and his next contract wont be absurd. His grit and size greatly help NJ immediately on the back end along with another 1st round pick.... I feel that NJ should ask for Byram straight up but I know that wont happen... so Fitz counters with a 2020 first and Timmins, ultimately ending with Sakic saying 2021 1st and Zadorov.

Detroit still declines, they want kids. This is a lateral move and they actual give up a better draft pick. AA for prospects and picks or they hold on to him

If the past offseason had gone differently and they still had plenty of cap space it might have been a good idea, but not really feasible now.

That may be too much but the organization values those too very highly. If it were me; I would do everything in my power to get rid of Skjei while I still can, and this offer is one I’d consider. For it to be realistic, however, Ceci and the 2nd must become a 2020 1st.</div></div>
While I agree, both of their next 2 1st Rounders are tied up in the Canes trade. While I obviously don't believe the 2020 would be a Top 10 pick (which would free up the 2021 1st), I don't think they can move it until it is officially determined.

Point taken should say Draisaitl type talent. If it’s LD himself the Oiler would want the Cats to add but depending on what it is they probably wouldn’t. Huberdeau is on a great contract

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AJC13</b></div><div>Gorton said last trade deadline that he doesn't want other teams prospects unless it's in addition to draft picks. Anderson is playing centre in the NHL and could also play wing. Puljujarvi is a bust of a draft pick playing overseas. If he's such a great prospect why is EDM trying to trade him? Horrible trade idea!</div></div>
Edmonton is not trying to trade him. They want to sign him. He has demanded a trade. Does not want to play for them. So Oilers will listen to offers but would still rather keep him.

Would the rangers do this
That's an interesting offer- but at this point I have to say no - NYR still have hopes Lias can develop into a solid mid 6 presence....the problem right now with him (not necessarily a fault of his own) is his deployment...for whatever reason the team has a fascination w/ Bret Howden- which relegates Lias (who has a higher ceiling than Howden) to 4th line...which means trying to make the best of playing with linemates (Haley and Smith) who have no business suiting up as wings on any NHL or even AHL team.
As far as JP- his pedigree is unquestionable- and who knows- maybe a change of scenery would put his career on track...but you do have to question a talent like that who couldn't stick in a lineup featuring the McD, Drais, and RNH. At this point JP is certainly worth taking a gamble on- but I wouldn't offer more that a few picks (can include conditional upgrades based on his performance) and a mid tier prospect.

Blues aren’t parting with Thomas Kostin or Kyrou. Thomas is untouchable and by far better than this package. Blues probably would be willing to trade the package if a prospect that isn’t one of or phantom three were in it.

Ideal yet realistic lines
You'd think Quinn would at least think about giving Lias a couple offensive players on his wings once or twice. The brendan smith wing experiment needs to die. I really dont get what they see in Howden over Lias, but at this point im probably bias with frustration.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChytilMania</b></div><div>I was completely uninformed on Mass Søgaard. I never heard his name so I figured he’s just another irrelevant goalie prospect that would amount to nothing.
As for Formenton, I was aware of his talent and figured Georgiev’s talent, and Ottawa’s need for him would make it even. Clearly, I was mistaken here.</div></div>
Sogaard is still a few years away, but I think you're going to hear his name a lot, especially once he fills into that massive frame. He's 200lbs, but at 6'7 he looks malnourished when he's out of his pads lmao. Once he puts on 20 or so lbs, he's going to take off imo.

If the oilers are pretty much guaranteed to make the playoffs at the deadline (if they keep playing the way they are) and NJD aren't going to make the playoffs, this could happen. I doubt that that happens though

You might be right...but how about giving Lias a chance? He has played and excelled with Uber talented line mates at all levels of play up to NHL....supposedly has great vision, hockey IQ, and is a puck hound...and he seems to have improved his biggest weakness- his first few steps....give him a shot at 2C!
