<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JK74</b></div><div>I've heard the Sharangovich rumors. IMO a 2nd is an overpayment at the moment for the Hawks (not an overpayment in general) because of where they are in the rebuild. IDK though, maybe landing Bedard makes this more justifiable to get young NHL talent around him.</div></div>

Yes very torn on this idea and the reality is we could run it back with AA. I feel Sharangovich could thrive with Bedard as he did with Hughes and he has experience on the PK, though the analytics don't jump out at you. He is defensively responsible can play with pace and can score.

I tend to agree though had based this off the intention KD wants to get another 1st rounder and VGK holding out on value.

Yes that 2nd in the VAN proposal could very well be the OTT 2nd and I think which pick gets traded in any real trade will be determined when the trade is done. The timeline on this is key IMO.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NJDevils1317</b></div><div>I think you nailed it here. I don't think CHI should only focus on getting overpaid players and paid to take them on in the rebuild. At least Sharangovich is young, and may give Bedard someone with potential to grow. Unless CHI is committed to drafting with all those picks, it's probably smart to try and get some "now" talent that in the end is just for a mid 2nd.</div></div>

The thinking is that he played really well with Hughes and could do the same with Bedard. He's a bigger body and can handle his defensive duties and shoot. Personally I'm not sold on the 2nd and would prefer it to be the 3rd but that would be handled during negotiations. His value is probably the lowest since breaking out but he can probably still fetch a 2nd and we could give him a bridge deal whether its 2 or 3 years.
