Johansen can be a bit of a polarizing player at times.
He's big and rangy with a long reach. He at times displays an extra gear in open ice off the rush.
He contributes on the PP in a middle bumper / deep slot role.
Johansen also has some long 'lags' in his game. There are nights he is capable of more output and consistent consistent compete.
Average plus defensively but he does take key defensive zone draws for the Avs and averages over 55% in the face-off circle. Element is offense. More of a shooter / finisher than play maker. Averages around 15:00 TOI. Deployed at ES and PP. Depth PK. Not overly physical for his stature.
