Kubalik has not produced the kind of offense the Senators were hoping he would contribute when they acquired him from the Detroit Red Wings.
Through 43GP he had only produced 9G-3A - Averaged 13:46 TOI - 11:30 even strength and 2:16 on the power-play. He doesn't have a role on the penalty kill. In fact, he struggles defensively overall and has posted a (-20) rating in the forty-three games.
In his most recent 20 game segment, before the All-Star break he scored 4G-2A and posted a (-10) rating.
Kubalik is on an expiring contract that carries and AAV of $2.5M.
Any team interested in acquiring him at the trade deadline is hoping he might find his game offensively and produce in a secondary role. 4th line forward at even strength. Has the skill to land on, potentially, a second power-play unit.
