Marc Bergevin needs to do something to change the outlook of the current Montreal Canadiens lineup, and with the current cap situation and the value of Alex Galchenyuk he is able to do some interesting moves. The first would be to trade AG to the islanders for Nick Leddy. Leddy will bring much needed offence to our blue line since losing Markov. Leddy is the best option since he is quite young and can play top minutes. By acquiring Leddy we can now have 2 offensive defensive pairings in Leddy-Webber and Mete-Petry. Our second and biggest move would be to sign John Tavares to an 8 year 10 million dollar contract to bring in the number one center the Habs have always been missing. Another huge depth signing would be to bring in young RW Cam Atkinson for around 6 million. After signing Tavaras we can now slot Drouin to the second line center. Since trading Galchenyuk we have to fill a void. Signing Evandar Kane will be a great signing at around 6 million and Kane will help complement Drouin's game. I believe Lehkonen has more offensive skill then Gallagher so I chose to slot Lehkonen in the top 6. After letting Plekanec and Mitchell walk we need to fill the holes for our center depth and I think Audette and Addison will be ready by next season. I also believe Scherbak and Juulsen will be ready for the big club next year.

After these off-season moves I finally truly believe the Montreal Canadiens will have a cup contending team. They will have a power-house first line. Each player on the top line can put up 60-70 points. Our second line isn't too far behind with offensive skill. Drouin and Kane can each put up 50-60 points and Lehkonen can put up 40-50 points. Any production from our 3rd and 4th lines are a bonus. We also now have 2 defensive pairings that can run the offence and possession game to create a lot more 5 on 5 scoring. I believe this team will be the best of the best when it comes to the new age fast pace possession/scoring hockey. Not to mention having Weber/Alzner and Price to stop pucks from going in.
