The Sabres probably won't trade Girgensons sadly and Sprong if he makes the team won't play second line over Phil and Rust. The trade for RNH is even but idk how much it helps.

Hagelin and a 2nd is too steep for Girgensons who is coming off two straight crappy years. Sprong would probably be on the second line because the Pens like to have Crosby, Malkin and Kessel on separate lines.

I think that deal is right on the money in terms of value. Girgs is a cheap 2 way 3c who has seen his production offensively down because of bylsma's one size fits all play style.

RNH's current value on EDM is higher than Hornqvist's on EDM and a late round 1st. EDM would be giving up a young 1C on a reasonable 4 yr contract for a guy that doesn't really fill a need in their lineup for 1 yr. Olli Maata would likely fit their needs better. Maata and a 1st would get EDM's curiosity, add some retained money and now you have their attention.
