I really don’t think the Sens trade 7 without 31 included. Cates I honestly just put in there to free up roster space. I’m sure he could be traded for something more elsewhere.

I like Cates as a player, but if losing him is your nightmare, we have very different visions for what this team should look like.

Sanfilippo said the Sens have coveted Laughton for a while now and really want to dump Joseph's contract. He said he heard 12 and Laughton for 7 and Joseph has been discussed. No need to include Cates (who is probably worth a 2nd and at least a 3rd) and a late first. Giving up Laughton, taking on a lesser player with the same contract, 12, 32, and the equivalent of a 2nd or 3rd round pick is way too much to move up to 7 in a weak draft. Sorry bro, that's nightmare ishe.
