If we are trading away a 20 to 30 goal scorer that will only cost 4.5 million, we wouldn't be including an asset. We would be acquiring one for Skinner. Thus another reason it makes zero sense to buy him out.

If that happens. It only shows the entire sabres organization does not understand how the NHL salary cap works.

If they don't feel he can play top 6 minutes and he isn't want they want bottom 6, they will have a very hard time moving him with his NMC.

    It's probably going to happen

Which would only prove my point.

It will cost more real money, longer term, more cap, and we get no asset.

If you can't find a playoff team in the EC willing to take Skinner at 4.5 million, you shouldn't be a nhl gm.

Furthermore. Buying him out, might actually hurt our cap down the road, whereas keeping him, retaining him for 3 years does not.

I haven't seen one creditable person report we are buying him out. All I've seen is speculative offseason bs from Friedman and Hamilton

It actually is you not understanding how contracts work. He has a full no movement clause. Full. He has made it very clear that he's comfortable in buffalo, his family and friends are super close by in Toronto. The Sabres can't trade him without him waiving it, and it looks like he isn't going to waive it.

I understand no moment clauses. Because that's actually what they are called. Thank God many of the east coast teams that make the playoffs are you know, on the east coast and close to markham, where he is actually from, not Toronto.

And clearly you don't understand how NMC work because you know, players can waive them.

Missing where I said "He's comfortable in Buffalo". He's built an entire life here, but clearly you know Jeff personally and he obviously wants to waive so that's great! Actually moronic if you believe the Sabres just know nothing about the salary, and would be buying him out when Jeff is so willing to waive!! If they buy him out, it's because he won't waive. Huge correction sorry, he's 20 minutes away from the place I said he was from. Toronto area, is that better? Thank god we got that squared away.

With the excpetion of Toronto's proximity to markham this is all speculate by you. Congrats on making your own narrative.

And the only reason I corrected about markham was due to the tone of your incorrect post.
