Not a chance Canucks would trade Brock Boeser who is going to be a big time goal scorer.

However, they are getting Nuge and a 1st, and ridding themselves of Sutters contract, which is good. But I don't think EDM will make this deal.

I thought the deal was ok. Sutter is the equalizer of poliout with his contract. Yes they lose Boeser but they get rid of a negative contract for a guy who will play nicely behind horvat pus makes them deep at centre for the year while also pulling out a first round pick who they can draft another good player

Deal was okay but Boeser makes it a non-starter from a Canucks stand-point due to his upside potential. This trade could come back to bite them like Cam Neely trade years ago. I might be wroing but just my take.

I think the Canucks see Elisa Pettersson as their future No.1 Offensive centre with Horvat being the No. 2 shut down centre. The Canucks are actually acquiring a sold group of forward prospects but the team may be weak for a couple of more years while draft picks are developing.

I do not think the Canucks really would want Nugent Hopkins because he might help them over-achieve for 2017-2018 season and hurt their draft status. Also, it would create a log jam at centre with Henrik Sedin, Bo Horvat and Nugent Hopkins.

I think the Canucks game plan will be to move out players for prospects and draft picks at deadline again this year and continue the rebuild. They also want to stay in Dahlin sweepstakes.

I wouldn't trade Nuge to Vancouver unless Tanev and a pick is coming back

I think Benning will move Tanev in the future when the time is right such as the next trade deadline or draft for a combination of picks and maybe a prospect.

Team a little thin on blueline until Olli Juolevi arrives so i think Tanev will be starting season in Vancouver.

IMO Sutter isn't a bad contract (he's just a tad overpaid)... He put up 34 points this season (coming off of an injury plagued season the year before)... With more ice-time he could do produce more IMO

RNH would have been a better option for VAN if we didn't draft Pettersson this year or if we were leaning towards the end of our rebuild

Boeser has first line potential IMO and won't be going anywhere anytime soon unless the return is substantial especially if he's going to be traded within the division... VAN won't be RS on Sutter

RNH and a late 1st rounder won't be enough for a consistant 25+ point guy and a kid filled with potential

Personally I'd stay away from acquiring anyone from EDM since McDavid is making everyone around him better... I wouldn't want to see VAN acquire someone and then them not be able to perform the way they did in EDM since McDavid isn't in VAN
