Devils have zero protection for skill players, as seen from last year. As for the late first round pick for a 1 year out vezina winner i dont think ottawa fans would be too upset. The devils problem was they had a one dimensional hockey team, not necessarily the youth.

I think ullmark is valued so highly is because he won the vezina in 2023, yes the bruins had on of the best defenses we've seen that year, just based on the goals against thy had but ullmark has also been really consistent the last 5 seasons posting rougly the same GAA and SV% every season besides the 2023 season. Also him and swayman split time, yes hed be a backup next year but this isnt the first time the bruins had a starter as their back up at one point, tim thomas and tuukka rask were a filthy tandem, so was rask and halak (I am in no way saying halak was a starter when he joined the bruins he was just a really good back up)

I'd rater have Beecher than Stenlund. Also, leaving 3 million on the table when you haven't given Lindholm or Swayman enough seems wrong.
